⭐Day 16 - Hosting member events ⭐ In October, we were delighted to host the ‘Workshop on the Applications of Nuclear Energy for Decarbonisation and Clean Growth’ at the Wilton Centre led by NEPIC member X-energy UK and Equilibrion. The event explored the wide and varied applications of small, advanced nuclear technology to support decarbonisation and clean growth across a wide range of sectors where low-carbon heat, hydrogen and electricity are in high demand. The workshop included briefings on supportive Government policy that opens the door to the use of nuclear for decarbonisation and growth across this wide range of applications and how deployments can support achieving Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reduction. ❄️Day 15 - NEPIC's apprentice❄️ This year saw us welcome our fantastic apprentice, Leighton Stonehouse, who is undertaking his qualification with the Education Training Collective (Etc.), and funded through apprenticeship levy gifted by px Group, cementing all three organisations’ commitment to providing opportunities for young people in the area. Katie Woods-Ruddick, chief people officer at px Group said: “We are delighted to be able to work with NEPIC to transfer Levy funds which has helped them employ their first ever apprentice. At px we fully understand the importance and value of employing apprentices and we glad we have been able to support NEPIC.” Leighton said: "I’m really enjoying my journey as an apprentice at NEPIC and helping and supporting members". Leighton has already made a big impact on the NEPIC team and started to build some great relationships with our members. Well done Leighton and we look forward to seeing your journey progress as we move into 2025! #NEPICAdvent24

The aim of our Environmental Award for NE Primary Schools is to encourage and educate primary school children on environmental awareness and actions by exploring and suggesting an environmentally themed project. The winning school can then deliver the project aided by the £2,000 prize fund they receive.
