  • Here is another example of a co-creation film project we've been working on recently with CottonConnect. We've trained their teams around the world who are then briefed to go in to the field and film, quite literally!! The footage is then sent to us to edit. This is just one of a series of films we have been working on with them that helps them tell their stories and bring their work to life. This particular film is about their REEL Cotton programme in Egypt and their partnership with The White Company. During the film you hear from the partners involved, but you also hear from the farmers about the benefits of the programme and the differences it is making to their lives. How are you, or could you, use co-creation to help tell your organisations stories? If you would like to discuss some ideas then please message 'cocreation' below. #Cocreation #Storytelling #Sustainability #Partnership #ImpactReporting

At CottonConnect, we're happy to partner with The White Company to enhance #Egyptiancotton through our REEL Cotton programme. Launched in 2022, our REEL programme in Egypt has grown from supporting 145 smallholder farmers to empowering 350+ farmers! The REEL Cotton Code, a three-year training programme, equips farmers with sustainable practices that reduce water usage and environmental impact. Our partnerships with local organisations, such as the Cotton Research Institute and Elekhlas, ensure transparency, traceability, and strong farmer relationships. This is a great example of how collaborations can be a win-win for all involved. Farmers gain valuable skills, the environment thrives, and The White Company accesses high-quality, sustainably produced cotton. Together, we're weaving a more sustainable future for Egyptian cotton, one thread at a time. Watch our programme video to learn more about our work in Egypt. #Egyptiancotton #REELcotton #CottonConnect #Sustainability #Sustainbalecotton #cotton #bedsheets #Egypt #home #fashion

Empowering Solopreneurs, Solo Pathfinders and Solo Travellers to Reach their Full Potential 🧭 Professional Coach, Speaker, Facilitator and Podcast Host 🎙️

This week, I had the pleasure of attending the Mile 91 Storytelling Masterclass! Expertly facilitated by Catherine Raynor and Alexandra Vernon, we were treated to two insightful sessions: ➡️ Become a Confident Interviewer – This covered key interview skills, including contracting, building rapport, active listening, questioning styles, and how to close a conversation effectively. ➡️ Writing Brilliant Stories – This session explored how to craft captivating headlines, write strong standfirsts, find the optimal length for written interviews, and engage your audience. I also received some fantastic pointers from Herbert Soden, a journalist for the British Red Cross, on how to improve my interviewing and writing style. Overall, the course opened my eyes to the potential reach I have as an interviewer, writer, and Professional Storyteller for Animas Centre for Coaching, spreading the word about coaching and the power of conversations! A huge thank you to the facilitators for this fabulous course – I can't wait to see how it positively impacts the quality of my work moving forward. Shout-out to Mile 91 for the amazing work they're doing with charities and businesses alike, helping them share their success stories. Here's to me and my role, V2.0! Let's get this party started! 🥳

  • Some behind-the-scenes shots from this week’s shoot in Southampton. Ben is used to getting into some awkward positions to get the shot but hopping into the boot of a car to capture a baby being clipped into a car seat was a new one! We’re partnering with Southampton City Council to produce a funded awareness film to drive take-up of routine childhood immunisations. Thanks to all the public health consultants, nurses, parents, grandparents and very smiley and obliging toddlers and babies who made the last two days run so smoothly. We look forward to sharing the film in the next month or two. #publichealthcommunications #localgovernment #filmproduction

Sometimes it’s the smallest things isn’t? Can I admit I geeked out about whiteboards yesterday? Ruth McDermott and I ran the Mile 91 impact storytelling workshop for The Q community at The Health Foundation. An energising morning being in the room with such a thoughtful team who had excellent questions. We really loved seeing them think through how to bring issues to life and simplify the data with stories about people. But the whiteboard desks pleased me more than I should admit in public. I want one for my office now. I would have permanently inky arms like a primary school child. And I just loved these accessibility badges, freely available at reception to dip into if you have the need. Bravo! #impactstorytelling

  • This is a film we made with Apps for Good recently and I wanted to share it with a few thoughts. Normally I don't really like filming/photographing events, as it feels like there are better stories and visuals to be had when talking about the work people and organisations are doing. However, this event is part of the story, this event is the ‘Climate Change and Digital Innovation Summit’, which is the culmination of weeks of hard work from the students and provides them with an opportunity to present and share their ideas with industry experts. It's the final where the winners and runners up will be chosen. It's also not the only filming and photography Apps for Good are doing. Events can provide an excellent way of capturing lots of soundbites quickly and efficiently. In this film you hear from a range of stakeholders, teachers and students from different schools. Not all the voices and soundbites could fit in to this film because we wanted to keep it quite short. However they will get used in other ways, whether that’s in shorter versions for social media, or as written quotes. Tomorrow we are in a school capturing photos of the students learning and it’s this layering of content that you get from regular story gathering. This then enables Apps for Good to talk about their work and the impact it’s having across all their various communication platforms. The other benefit of course is you're not using the same photos and quotes across all your channels all year. Want help communicating your impact? Please comment below or send us a DM. #Storytelling #ContentCreation #ImpactReporting #Filmmaking
