Defining success for a small business is not always easy. As we come to the end of the year we know it’s been a huge success - and whilst finances have fed that - really it’s the off the field activity that stands out and makes for a very complex Richard Curtis movie: - One marriage - Two engagements - 2 babies born - 3 house/flat offers accepted - One recovery from a serious health condition As we enter the last ‘proper week’ of 2025 we’d like to take this moment to thank all our clients and suppliers for helping us on this amazing journey. Seatbelts on for January as with three new team members joining us it’s going to be a rollercoaster.

About us
Media Forty Two is a specialist B2B consultancy and media buyer. We specialise in all channels with a particular focus on events and performance marketing. B2B is still running a few years behind the consumer market both in terms of transparency and marketing effectiveness. Technologies are driving a market where people and processes haven't yet had the chance to catch up. We at Media Forty Two plan to change that. Sometimes it will mean committing the golden faux pas of advertising and talking about 'problems'. Only when you recognise what isn't right can you fix it.

A fabulous strategy day last Wednesday with the Acxiom UK mx team and most of their ops team (Sara and Matt) over from the US. Our advice to anyone new to a B2B marketing career today is to learn the automation and ad platforms. Marketo, Hubspot, Google, LinkedIn, Meta, SFDC etc. make you critical from the outset. Without these platforms you might have a great idea - but you can’t implement it or won’t fully appreciate what type of user journey is possible. It was no surprise to see a company that sits at the forefront of data and platform services, integrating their mx ops and analytics teams into a joined up strategy day. Later we went to Swingers. At some stage we’ll explain to our ops mgr that the expenses receipts for this were for crazy golf.
