Yesterday, the North West Biotech Initiative hosted the finalist event for their Consulting Case Competition. It was an incredible evening, featuring keynote speakers from leading consultancy firms and fantastic mentoring opportunities for all the participants. As part of the Management Consulting Soc, I had the opportunity to speak to 105 attendees about our society’s mission to provide students with valuable networking opportunities, career-building resources, and hands-on consulting experiences. Congratulations to the competition winners, and a big thank you to North West Biotech Initiative for organising such a great event! Looking forward to more collaborations in the future.

Dear All,    Our team and North West Biotech Initiative is delighted to announce our first event of the academic year: the Consulting Case Competition 2024! 🎉   If you’re interested in a career in pharmaceutical or healthcare consultancy - this is the perfect opportunity for you to enhance your skill set and network with leading consultants in the field.   The schedule consists of a Workshop Day, Mentoring Day and Competition Day spread throughout 2 weeks in October. During this time, competitors will learn the necessary skills required to analyse a case, discuss the process of producing a consulting proposal, and finally pitch their findings to a panel of judges for the chance to win up to £600 in cash prizes! 🤑   The competition is open to UK university undergraduate and postgraduate students (masters, PhD, and post-doc) in STEM, who are interested in gaining a thorough understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical consulting. Teams must be 2-5 people and should be available for all below key dates. 📅   - Thursday 10th October at midnight: Application Deadline - Monday 14th October: Notification to the Finalists - Wednesday 16th October: Workshop 1 (Online), 5-7:30 pm  - Thursday 17th October: Workshop 2 (Online), 5-7:30 pm - Tuesday 22nd October: Competition Day Final and Networking Event (Manchester Institute for Biotechnology, Foyer and adjoining lecture hall)   Finalists will be selected based on the quality of their teams’ application.
