A negotiation masterclass was a big draw this week, with members of Level 20's Emerging Talent cohort keen to explore tactics and learn new skills, including the principles of negotiation and the factors that influence different approaches. Our thanks to TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. and Aparna Roy, Principal, for hosting the breakfast event and to Richard Jones from The Gap Partnership, who led a thought-provoking session and shared top tips for negotiation success that could be implemented straightaway. #privateequity #venturecapital
About us
Level 20 is a not for profit organisation founded in 2015 by 12 women working in senior roles in private equity, aligned around a common vision of improving gender diversity in the industry. We aim to inspire women to join and succeed in this dynamic industry by creating opportunities for them to interact and learn from the insights and experience of others. Our vision is underpinned by a focus on four key initiatives: mentoring and development; networking and events; outreach and advocacy; and research. We are supported financially by 127 private equity firms and over 5,500 individual members who together help create a strong voice for improving gender diversity across the industry. Our goal is for women to hold 20% of senior positions in the European private equity industry.

Media training can be like pulling back the curtain in the Wizard of Oz - once you know how the media works and what journalists are looking for, it's much easier to get their attention, stay on message and achieve the headlines you want to see. ABC, also known as 'bridging', was just one of the techniques taught in our media training session for senior leaders with ex BBC editor Jess Carter. Our thanks to Pollen Street Capital for hosting the session, and all our brave participants for putting themselves through mock interviews and presentations on the day. A repeat session in November is already fully booked, but if you'd like to benefit from these Level 20 development opportunities in future, don't forget to check the member portal. We were delighted to be at PAI Partners in Paris for an in-person Insights and Networking event for our Level 20 sponsor community recently, where we shared the findings of our new European gender diversity report: Women working in European private equity & venture capital. Over the best croissants (of course) and coffee, our CEO, Gurpreet Manku, and Head of Industry Impact, Cassie Lloyd Perrin, presented data across 13 of our chapter countries in Europe and facilitated an engaging discussion with our French sponsor community.
