📢 Alongside comedian and LTA Padel Ambassador Jason Manford, it was great to welcome secondary school pupils from across Manchester to Pure Padel UK and give them their first taste of the world’s fastest growing sport. 🙌 The activities aimed to get as many padel rackets in children’s hands as possible, get them playing and grow their interest for a sport which is seeing annual participation near 200,000. Reflecting on the fun, Jason Manford said: “It was a great morning, being able to see kids who have hardly ever heard of padel picking up a racket and playing the sport, loving it, and hopefully playing it again.” As part of Jason’s LTA Ambassador role, he will help support and facilitate the growth of the sport, and really open up the opportunities to young people and underserved communities. 👉Read more about the day’s activities: https://lnkd.in/dXKGmJBh Steve Yeardley Tom Murray

A number of LTA Tennis Award winners were among the special guests at the 2024 Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, organised by our patron The Princess of Wales. Everyone at the service thanked all of those who do so much for others in their communities whether on a personal level with friends, family, through their work or as they selflessly give their time through volunteering. Janet Corrie, from Harpenden Tennis Club, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the LTA. She said: “It was a very special occasion and beautifully organised. I felt very humble to be included with so many people who have offered so much love and support in their various areas”. The service will be broadcast on Christmas Eve on ITV at 19.30. "Members from right across the club are more engaged and actively involved in climate positive behaviour." The 2024 LTA Pledgeball League saw more people who play at clubs and venues across Britain start to think about putting sustainability first, and venues themselves thinking about sustainability initiatives they can put in place to make a positive difference.
