It’s fantastic to see Lakes College taking a proactive approach by collaborating with employers to upskill students and prepare them for the engineering industry 👇
We had a brilliant response to our Industry Engagement Event today for employers operating in the engineering sector! Companies including Amentum, Holmen Iggesund, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory and Shepley Engineers Ltd attended Lakes College to find out more about how we can support them to develop skills in their current and future workforce. Gary Martin, Director of Curriculum for STEM at Lakes, delivered a presentation on recent developments and upcoming opportunities at college, as well as sharing regional news and changes affecting training and education. There was also a chance for employers to ask questions and share their own experiences regarding key topics such as apprenticeships and placements before they enjoyed a tour of our Engineering Skills Academy, meeting apprentices and staff and learning about their training so far. #ReadyRespectfulPotential #SkillsForLife #ItAllStartsWithSkills Sharon Baillie
