Of those who reported… 🌱90% have an environmental policy 🌱84% have an environmental action plan 🌱72% have taken steps to save energy & be more energy efficient 🌱71% have produced & programmed work exploring environmental themes 🌱68% actively collaborate with other cultural organisations to find and share solutions to environmental issues 🌱59% have their environmental action overseen at governance level 🌱47% have experienced direct financial benefits from their environmental progress Cultural organisations are not just talking the talk – they’re embedding sustainability into their very core. The push for a greener future is on, and the creative and cultural sector is leading the charge. “The case for culture & climate is no longer in any doubt. This report is a celebration of steady & progressive cultural transformation” - our Founder Alison Tickell. "Music allows people an understanding that doesn’t require a PhD in biosciences, but can just be felt. It can tell us: this is what is coming, this is what we need to do to change. And it can paint a picture of the alternative, because it's the artist that can sometimes communicate the beauty of the alternative vision." #CreativeClimateLeadership alumni Sam Lee talks to FAC News about bridging music, nature and activism with EarthPercent...

We want to say a huge congratulations to Horst Weidenmueller for receiving the IMPALA Independent Music Companies Association's Outstanding Contribution Award >> https://lnkd.in/g83DARvw Horst is not only CEO and founder of !K7 Music, but also founder of IMPALA's Sustainability Task Force and a true champion of climate action in the independent music sector. We've loved working alongside him over the last four years, shaping IMPALA's sustainability charter, building the first bespoke carbon calculator for independent record labels to transparently report on their carbon emissions, and supporting ambition and collaborative leadership on climate across independent music businesses ✨ #CreativeClimateAction

"At climate conferences, artists show how culture conveys the urgency of the climate crisis in ways data cannot; it inspires, mobilises and heals." Creative Climate Leadership Alumni Syed Jazib Ali reflects on #COP29, and why culture is vital for climate policy to achieve systemic change - for Nikkei Asia
Founder | Climate Justice Advocate | Media & Culture Strategist | Impact Producer | BMW Foundation Responsible Leader
My COP29 Opinion Piece for Nikkei Asia is now published! 🌍 This year, I attended COP29 Azerbaijan as part of the Creative Climate Leadership network, supported by Julie's Bicycle and the Culture of Solidarity fund by the European Cultural Foundation. In this op-ed, I delve into why culture - too often sidelined - must take its rightful place at the heart of climate decision-making. Culture is frequently overlooked in the fight against climate injustice, yet it holds the power to inspire, mobilise, and heal. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/e9S2hskD P.S. It’s paywalled for returning readers - signing in will fix it. :) #CultureForClimate #COP29 #ClimateAction
