Today is Equal Pay Day 2024: alarmingly, this day comes 2 days earlier than last year - which means there is still lots to be done to shrink the Gender Pay Gap. The Gender Pay Gap is the difference between the average hourly pay of women and men, as a proportion of men’s pay. This year, Government data has indicated a mean gender pay gap of 11.3% for full time-workers, which means that Equal Pay Day will be on 20th November. Alarmingly, this is 2 days earlier than last year compared to 10.4% in 2023 - which is the first time , it has definitively widened since 2013.
