Important news 🌍 ILDS and L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty have launched a landmark global study on dermatological accessibility in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO)! We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Global Access to Skin Health Observatory - the first global survey assessing the availability and accessibility of dermatological services in 194 WHO member state countries. This study will explore the global distribution of dermatologists, barriers patients face when accessing care, and the role of 'surrogate' providers in underserved regions. With 2 billion people worldwide living with skin disease, this collaboration aims to highlight disparities in care and improve access to life-changing services. 🎥 Want to learn more? Dr Esther Freeman , who leads this initiative as Principal Investigator, shares insights in an interview with Practical Dermatology. Watch it now: https://lnkd.in/ehkvauyb "Achieving ILDS' mission of 'skin health for the world' begins with understanding the global landscape of dermatologic care and the disparities in access across regions and populations. This exciting partnership with L'Oréal marks a crucial first step towards this goal. We’re grateful for their commitment to elevating dermatologic care standards worldwide and look forward to working with them on this important initiative." ILDS President, Prof Henry W. Lim Together, we are working towards 'skin health for the world'. Learn more about the study at skinobservatory.org

In Africa, people with albinism are dying of skin cancer, and they urgently need our support. In 2013 Standing Voice in collaboration with its partners launched the Skin Cancer Prevention Programme to establish a network of lifesaving dermatology clinics for people with albinism. Today the SCPP is the largest programme of its kind in Africa reaching over 12,000 people with albinism across Tanzania and Malawi. 🫶If you are able, please consider donating to our match-funding Campaign and join the fight against skin cancer https://buff.ly/418GxDy Thank you to the 📽️ The International League of Dermatological Societies for championing our work Fondation Pierre Fabre The International League of Dermatological Societies and KCMC #BigGive #ChristmasChallenge #doubleyourdonation #matchfunding #donate #gift #festive #empower #inclusion #albinism #humanrights #africa #tanzania #malawi #vision #skin #change #story
