The confidence to say 'No' is a successful recruiter's superpower 🦸🏻 Often, the best vendors, partners and agencies are those who don't blindly say yes to every request Or follow every instruction without question. In fact, the best partners will push back when necessary to achieve the best outcome for you —and them Sometimes, that means turning down the work in the first place, even if it’s an opportunity that looks amazing on paper But saying 'No' requires confidence, patience and wisdom After 13 years' in recruitment, I feel able to say 'No' Because I’ve seen, first hand, that the most successful recruitment partnerships are not built on blind obedience. They're built on mutual respect, open communication, and on a shared commitment to finding the right people —not just filling seats By gently pushing back when it makes sense, I'm implicitly raising standards on both sides of the table So if you're working with a recruiter, don’t be put off if they push back here and there In fact, be reassured. It probably means you hired the right team. 🔥 When was the last time you said 'No' to a client? 🔔 Follow me Kelly Gauthier for thoughts on AI and recruitment best practice ♻ Repost to share with your network
