Empowering engineers and their families to thrive for over 130 years. Please #DonateDirect today.

About us

As an independent engineering charity, we have been empowering engineers and their families to thrive since 1890 - helping to ensure they never have to face life's challenges alone. We may be a small team, but we make a huge difference in the global engineering community. Throughout our long history, we've delivered vital services which support almost 1,000 people, every year. Whether it’s... ➡️ tailored grants to help struggling families rebuild their financial independence; ➡️ advice on legal issues to give people peace of mind on common life challenges; ➡️ or expert resources to help community members take control of their wellbeing ...we provide a supportive foothold to help our community meet their emotional, physical, and financial needs. Whatever their circumstances. Our ambition has always been to ensure that engineers, and the people who matter to them most, feel supported in all aspects of their lives. But most of all, that they know it’s okay to ask for support. We want them to be healthy and able to stand on their own two feet. To feel looked after, but also empowered by their professional community. Funded by the engineering community, for the engineering community, Foothold is a starting point, giving you the tools you need to make your life better – right now. Get in touch with us to find out how we can help you and your family thrive today 👇
