It’s been a busy but enormously enjoyable and rewarding couple of months. • I passed the first assignment of my CIH Level 4 course • Became a Domestic Abuse Champion which has enabled me to further my knowledge of asking, responding and supporting people affected by domestic abuse. • Secured an injunction order at court for a long-standing tenancy breach. Really grateful for all the learning and development opportunities I have had this year and excited to further my knowledge of housing management and tenancy enforcement in 2025!

Our latest edition of Havebury News has been landing on doorsteps and inboxes this week (including mine!). Seeing something I have worked on for months come to life has always been my favourite part. This is my fifth edition of producing Havebury News in-house, and I may have finally got into the swing of things with InDesign 😅 A lot of work goes into this magazine, from interviews, to photoshoots, to creating the content, and that's before the design work has even begun. Then there is the copy editing, the copy re-editing, and then questioning whether you even understand the English language 🫠 This edition is the biggest ever, and I take pride in not only the final edit and printed version but also the journey—the challenges overcome, the growth, and the perseverance. I have also worked on ensuring that Havebury News is sent to residents in the format that they prefer, whether that be email or print or in some cases not at all. I really hope our residents like the content in this edition and find it informative and engaging. I look forward to receiving feedback over the coming weeks. Of course, a huge shout out to Hayley Lambert and Kathryn Rowland, who are my second pair of eyes when pulling this content together, and Jenny Spoor for her feedback and keen eyes, which I really appreciate when getting the final edit ready for print. Thank you also to Julie Armstrong for ensuring Havebury News reached residents in a timely manner. As we mark the 16 Days of Activism, we are proud to spotlight one of our members, Havebury Housing Partnership, for their incredible commitment to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. Havebury Housing Partnership successfully achieved their DAHA Accreditation this year. Havebury Housing Partnership has demonstrated that they meet all 8 standards of the DAHA accreditation framework by providing not only a response to domestic abuse that is trauma informed and survivor led but by investing in training and systems that help staff to identify the early signs of domestic abuse, to know how to have conversations about this with both residents and staff and to share information in accordance with the co-ordinated community response to improve outcomes for those experiencing domestic abuse and their families. Some of the commitments to support this include designing a bespoke case management system for domestic abuse cases that is separate from ASB, clearly flags DA and gives prompts at each stage so that staff know what next steps to take. Staff spoke of a huge shift in their confidence in supporting survivors of domestic abuse since they started their progression towards achieving DAHA accreditation and this was recognised also by partner agencies who spoke of a marked improvement in the support given and survivor satisfaction. Actions taken were swift regarding either making properties safer so that families could stay with their support networks or assisting them to move on when desired including management moves. The network of DA champions was strong and the staff survey that they conducted amongst staff identified even more people who were willing to volunteer as champions which speaks of the level of engagement in the desire to improve situations for both staff and residents experiencing domestic abuse at Havebury. We were also pleased to see that Havebury has signed up to Unison’s Anti-Racism Charter and are excited to see how an Anti-Racist and Intersectional approach continues to build over the course of our ongoing work with Havebury Housing Partnership to strengthen the response even further. Havebury Housing Partnership was assessed by our Senior Regional Lead, Sharon crosby. We thank Havebury Housing Partnership for leading by example and proving that housing providers can be powerful allies in the fight to end domestic abuse. 💡 During these 16 Days of Activism, we urge all housing providers to reflect on their role in supporting survivors. DAHA Accreditation is more than a mark of excellence—it’s a commitment to saving lives. Let’s continue to work together to create a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. #16DaysOfActivism #16Days #EndViolence #DAHA #DomesticAbuseHousingAlliance #NoExcuse #HaveburyHousingPartnership #HousingMatters

Today, we picked up 50 Christmas hampers from our local food bank, Gatehouse. 🎄 Members of our Supported team and other volunteers from across the business will now deliver them to residents so they can enjoy them over the festive period. Gatehouse does an amazing job of supporting our residents by providing food and furniture to families that need it the most. Here's the team picking up the hampers, ready to spread some festive cheer!
