Fantastic to be in #Ipswich for Independent East’s Board and Resident Conference. Independent East is an informal alliance of five community‐focused housing associations in the East of England including Broadland Housing Group, Freebridge Community Housing, Havebury Housing Partnership, Saffron Housing Trust Limited and Orwell Housing Association. The group’s purpose is to share ideas and best practice to continually improve services for their tenants. It was great to speak at the conference and to participate in a Q&A expertly facilitated by Jenny Watson CBE, Chair of Broadland Housing Group. Exciting news for Hindringham! 🌱 Seven new carbon zero affordable homes have just been handed over in the village, offering local families a sustainable and energy-efficient housing option. These five bungalows and two houses feature air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and other green technologies that make them net zero operational. This project was a collaboration between Broadland Housing Group, EN Suiter & Sons, Ingleton Wood, North Norfolk District Council and Homes England. Located on Wells Road, the homes were designed to complement the village's character, using traditional materials like timber and flint. These homes are not only affordable but also environmentally friendly, helping to reduce energy costs for tenants. Priority will be given to families with connections to Hindringham and surrounding areas. We are thrilled to announce the launch of procurement for our new Homes for the Future Framework! 🎉   This framework is a key milestone in supporting our mission to provide high quality, sustainable and affordable homes across Norfolk and North Suffolk. We are seeking to partner with collaborative Main Contractors to help us build better communities.   Our projects will emphasise placemaking, net-zero carbon operations, and biodiversity, all aimed at creating lasting, sustainable communities.   The Framework will also include a Social Value Charter, guiding our Contractors to enhance social, environmental, and economic outcomes, aligned with our vision.   With support from AECOM and Archor LLP, the procurement is being carried out under the Public Contract Regulations 2015, with the Contract Notice and SQ set for release in October 2024.   We're eager to connect with Contractors of all experience levels to ensure the ITT is well-matched to the skills and capabilities of the market. This project is a fantastic collaboration between Broadland Housing Group, North Norfolk District Council, and Homes England, aimed at providing much-needed housing for local residents. These homes will be not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally friendly, with air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and electric charging points, all contributing to a 'B' EPC rating.
