Congratulations are in order 🍾 NJ TRANSIT's Board of Directors awarded a $444 million contract to Skanska Koch Inc. to build the lift span of the new 𝗥𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 on the North Jersey Coast Line. This new vertical-lift bridge, replacing the 116-year-old swing bridge between Perth Amboy and South Amboy, will allow marine traffic to pass underneath. NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin Corbett called it a "𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁" that will improve reliability and weather preparedness for thousands of daily riders. #BuildingGreatTeamsTogether #ContractAward #Construction

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍-𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒔 offer a powerful solution for modern infrastructure, combining the strength and durability of steel with the versatility and fire resistance of concrete. This efficient design optimizes material usage and construction time, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of bridge projects. #civilengineering #infrastructure #construction #steelconcrete Check out the video below ⬇️⬇️⬇️ #BuildingGreatTeamsTogether
Steel-concrete composite bridges: Strength, efficiency, and versatility in modern infrastructure. Steel-concrete composite bridges combine the strengths of both materials for optimal performance. Steel beams or girders handle tensile forces, while concrete provides compressive strength, creating a durable and efficient structure. These bridges are ideal for long spans due to steel's ability to cover wide distances, while concrete adds weight and stability. They are also cost-effective, requiring less maintenance over time and enabling faster construction with prefabricated elements. The blend of steel and concrete offers flexibility in design, enhancing the bridge's aesthetic appeal. Additionally, composite bridges reduce environmental impact by efficiently utilizing materials and energy. Their versatility makes them suitable for highways, railways, and pedestrian crossings. video rights : Respective owners DM for removal/credits #bridges #bridgeconstruction #bridgedesign #construction #civilengineering #civilengineer #construction #engenhariacivil #engenharia #civilconstruction #engeheiro #engenheirocivil #ingeniero #ingenierocivil
