When it comes to your household bills, it pays to be disloyal. That’s what Nous CEO Greg Marsh said to The Times for their latest article on the cost of being a loyal customer. Greg told them: “Loyalty only makes sense if the company you are loyal to is on your side, otherwise it really doesn’t pay. In fact it probably costs you hundreds or even thousands of pounds a year. “We have seen people save more than £750 a year on their mobile phone alone. They had taken out a contract, stuck with the same company for years, and never realised how much they were overpaying.” So what is this costing us? Let’s be honest. There’s only one thing people care about when it comes to the Budget. “What does this mean for me?” With this in mind, the team at Nous set out to create something that gave people a personalised breakdown for their household. We wanted to make sense of all those impenetrable numbers plastered across the headlines. So – we created a tool that tells people exactly what the impact of the Budget would be on their household over the next year. And we worked with the MailOnline to bring the tool to their readers and power their Budget coverage. Who are the winners and losers? 🥇The biggest winners have to be people earning minimum wage. Someone who works full time at minimum wage is going to be £1,400 better off 🥈It’s a mixed picture for pensioners – the state pension is rising by 4%, but almost all are losing their winter fuel allowance (worth up to £300) 🥉 It’s not good news at all for higher earners, who will be hundreds of pounds worse off as a result of stealth taxes Head to the link in the comments to give it a go yourself! When we caught up with Rohan Maheswaran, their Managing Director, he told us they want to “support people as best we can and make them feel valued.” By finding fairer deals across energy, mobile, broadband and mortgages, Nous found the team savings worth £378 on average, and Rohan was able to help with some of the stress of rising prices.
