Connecting girls, teachers & advisors to the diversity of opportunities in asset management.
About us
Our mission at Future Asset is to inspire young women in Scotland to see that being female should never be a barrier to progressing in whatever career girls choose. We hope to educate girls, careers advisors & teachers with a greater understanding of the Investment Management industry, a major employer in Scotland, but one which many girls and teachers are unaware of. We aim to demonstrate the wide variety of jobs on offer and highlight the important role investment can play in shaping a better world. We want to build a network of Future Asset Ambassadors to help support us with our cause. Ambassadors are volunteers who work for investment companies and who are passionate about informing and motivating young women to consider careers in the sector. Many girls have no contacts in the industry and no idea that your jobs exist. You can provide them with information, powerful role models, networking opportunities and realistic career examples. Ambassadors come from all sectors of the investment industry and can be male or female and any age. If you work in the investment sector and would like to support us towards our mission, then please connect and get in touch.

Future Asset reposted this
It was great to help out at Baillie Gifford’s Future Asset sessions over the past couple of weeks. Future Asset looks to educate school girls about the financial services industry, and the various opportunities that are available to them. The girls loved their time in the office - gaining insight into what investing is and why we do it, future career opportunities, and hearing about some real life examples of companies that we invest in. Thank you to all our lovely speakers who made these events possible. When I was at school, this was never a career that I would have considered, nor did I think was available to me, so it’s amazing to see this important work being done!

What’s Next for Competition Participants? Now that submissions are in, students have gained valuable soft skills and an understanding of investment management. But it doesn’t stop here! All participants can join our Future Asset Alumni Network, giving them access to events, workshops, and opportunities to support their future success. Here’s what our alumna, Emilie, had to say about her experience. #IAmAnAsset #BudgeUpDave

Lovely update from St Andrew’s RC High School. Very well done girls, and huge thanks to teachers and coaches. Without you, the students wouldn’t have these fantastic opportunities to develop skills, understanding and widen their career horizons. #thankyou #IAmAnAsset #BudgeUpDave Palo Alto Networks Craig Leslie
St Andrew's RC High School Business Education Department S5 and S6 pupils have recently completed their entry for the Future Asset Competition, a prestigious initiative designed to introduce young people to the world of #investment and #wealthmanagement. Focusing on Palo Alto Networks, the pupils delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the company’s strengths as a potential investment, including its innovative approach to cybersecurity and growth potential. They also created a professional elevator pitch video, showcasing their ability to communicate complex ideas concisely and effectively. This achievement was supported by Craig Leslie, Chartered Wealth Manager at Greenbank Investments, and Marc K., Foundation Lecturer in the Department of Cybersecurity and Computing at Abertay University, who provided expert insights and mentorship. Mr. Gibson and Miss Stewart from the Business Education Department also played a pivotal role in guiding the team. 🤞Now off to the judging process. 🤞 We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication whatever the outcome of the judging process, the competition has been an invaluable experience, equipping our pupils with practical skills and boosting their confidence in applying business knowledge to real-world scenarios. Congratulations to all involved for their hard work and success! #futureasset #teamwork #leadership #critical_thinking #realife #finance #investment_analysis #inspirational

Great to see our Competition Coaches and Member firms getting involved with firm visits! Thank you Maven Capital Partners and Katie MacRaild for welcoming Williamwood High School into your offices in Glasgow! It’s an incredible opportunity for students to develop their skills, and connect with professionals—all while boosting brand awareness among the next generation of talent! Maven Scotland
Yesterday we welcomed some brilliant pupils from Williamwood High School with their Faculty Head for a meeting with Katie MacRaild, Director of Co-Investment at Maven, who is their mentor for the Future Asset Investment Competition. 📋 The competition invites teams of girls from Scottish secondary schools to research and pitch long-term investment opportunities in socially and environmentally impactful companies, guided by industry professionals, with the chance to win cash prizes and vouchers for their school. 🏆 The pupils also had a chance to sit down with some of our team: Amanda Docherty, Alexandra McCambridge and Marta S. to talk about the career opportunities for women in business and finance 👩🎓 It was a pleasure welcoming them to our Glasgow office and it was great to see how enthusiastic these young ladies were for the upcoming competition. #FutureAsset #ImAnAsset #investment
