🧑💼 Overqualified workers in the UK - are you in the right job? Did you know the UK has one of the highest rates of overqualified workers in the world? 🌍 A recent OECD - OCDE report found that over one-third of employees aged 25+ are working in jobs that don’t require their level of education. For many graduates, this means earning less than they could in roles that match their skills and training. So, what’s behind this? 💼 There are more highly-educated workers than the UK job market needs. ⚙️ Many businesses rely on lower-skill, lower-wage roles. 🎓 There’s also a mismatch between the skills people are trained for and what employers actually need. This has got people talking about the value of university degrees. Should we be doing more to encourage apprenticeships or vocational training? Or do degrees still hold a key place in opening doors for people and offering broader benefits? Last month, we extended the well-known National Inclusion Week by proudly celebrating our very own National Inclusion Month with a series of inspiring events, bringing our teams together to learn, reflect and connect. One highlight included hosting a talk with Shazia Ginai, who shared her powerful career journey as a woman of colour in leadership, including her experience as CEO of a neuromarketing agency. Shazia highlighted the role of the subconscious mind in leadership and spoke candidly about what true inclusion means in the workplace. It was a thought-provoking session that left a lasting impact on all who attended. To round off the month, we gathered for a vibrant National Inclusion Week social, enjoying international street food from Ghana, Italy, Jamaica and Mexico. Tying it in with National Hispanic Heritage Month, we also had a beautiful stripped back musical performance by PRS member and Latin American musician Lisey Tigra and her band🎶 These events help create an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated, and voices are heard. #NationalInclusionMonth #InclusionMatters #PRSforMusic #LifeAtPRS #MusicAndCulture #NationalInclusionWeek
