We’ve partnered with Windsor Fellowship and launched new funding schemes to support the next generation of Black research leaders in diabetes 💡 We know Black researchers are under-represented in diabetes research and we're changing that. We're inviting students from Black backgrounds to apply to our summer internship and PhD Studentship programme. Read more about these two schemes and apply by 12 January 2025 👇🏿 https://orlo.uk/CDjBf

Here for everyone affected by diabetes.
About us
We're leading the fight against the most devastating and fastest growing health crisis of our time, to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. Diabetes affects more people than any other serious health condition in the UK. More than dementia and cancer combined. That means we need to take action now. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Until we achieve our vision. Join us.

The results from the very first National Diabetes Experience Survey are in, so let’s hear what the tens of thousands of participants in England had to say 🗣️: We’re pleased to see the positives... 96% of people living with type 1 diabetes said that they currently use a device to manage their diabetes. 81% of people with type 2 diabetes said that a healthcare professional talked to them about potential complications in the last 12 months. …However, there’s still work to do 52% of people with type 2 diabetes said that not recognising the symptoms of diabetes delayed their diagnosis. This was 51% among people with type 1. 61% of people with type 1 diabetes said that their diabetes is a constant worry, 37% of people with type 2 diabetes agreed with this statement. 📣 It’s vital that decision-makers now use these insights to make the improvements that really matter. We’ll continue our work with national and local NHS leaders to support them to do this. Let's keep campaigning together!
