  • Our team had the pleasure of helping Birmingham Children’s Hospital spread some festive cheer by becoming Santa and elves to support their Magic Maker charity initiative. Our incredible Santa and elves transformed the hospital entrance into a magical Santa’s grotto. This was an incredible opportunity for our colleagues to get involved and share the holiday spirit with children and parents at the hospital for an afternoon. We would like to thank Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust for the invitation and organising the event.    #BetterTogether #Charity #FestiveCheer

  • For the third year running, Dalkia colleagues have used their volunteering day to plant 300 trees in our Dalkia Facilities woodland in York. Partnering with Make It Wild, we first began to plant trees back in 2022 aiming to plant 1000 by year three. Yesterday, that goal was achieved! Special shoutout to John Taylor who has volunteered his time each year. His experience saw him leading the group, taking only four hours to get the trees firmly in the ground. Make It Wild founder Christopher Neave said, ‘A fabulous team effort all round. Everyone really got stuck in, assisting with moving the equipment and accessories to each planting parcel and pairing up to get the trees safely and professionally in the ground. Thank you, team Dalkia’.   A special mention to those who took part, including: The Instant Group Kayleigh Dignam  Laura Flynn Steve Harries Jeff Howmans Peter Linnard Louise McDermott Nicolas Pagès Sam Parke Sandip Patel Oliver Sanger-Davies Terry Saunders John Taylor Matt Turner Rebecca Weir   #TakingReponsibility #MakeItWild #Volunteering

  • At Dalkia, our “Better Together” value is all about collaboration - working with clients, our supply chain, and the communities around us to achieve more together. During a recent Directors' health and safety visit at our Derby Business School project, Senior Project Manager, Graham Collins, came up with a fantastic idea: hosting a hog roast for the entire site. The event brought everyone together, providing a great opportunity to thank our teams for their hard work, strengthen our “in it together” culture, and take a moment to connect and recharge. We also used the occasion to raise £180 for MIND, our corporate charity, supporting mental health awareness. A huge thank you to our subcontractor partners who made this possible: 👉 A and A Electrical Services (Jon Lancaster & Anton Sims) 👉 LCS MECHANICAL LIMITED 👉 Map Ventilation.co.uk 👉 Schneider Electric 👉 Linear Insulation 👉 Protec Fire and Security Group 👉 JLS

  • Today is International Volunteering Day and we’re celebrating by encouraging our people to take time out to help local and national causes as part of Dalkia UK's Social Value Week. Last week colleagues from our Communications Team got together in Nottingham to support local city farm, Stone Bridge. They all rolled up their sleeves up and got involved by: 🔨 Building notice boards to share the farm’s latest environmental initiatives with visitors 🔨 Breaking down old tables and clearing rubbish into the new materials recycling area 🔨 Starting the build on a permanent gazebo for future visitor events. More than just a farm, Stone Bridge provides training, education and a range of volunteering opportunities for the local community. It’s free to visit, relies solely on donations and is run entirely by volunteers, who look after the grounds and the animals. Clémence O'Connor, Head of CSR at Dalkia UK said 'It’s so important to give back to the community and we are proud to offer our people the time and space to volunteer and make a difference.' Special thanks to Jacqui Cook and Clémence for making it happen and to Robert Olifent at Stone Bridge Farm for supervising! A big well done to our volunteers on the day – Benjamin, Julie, Clémence, Kimberley, Lauren, Ishan, Georgia and Christabel. Thanks also to our procurement team, headed by Darren Gunn, and supply chain who have kindly donated materials for several much-needed projects at the farm including Caswells Group, Smith Brothers Stores Ltd, STC Fasteners Ltd and ARTECH LIGHTING LIMITED #InternationalVolunteeringDay #BetterTogether #Teamwork

  • People First is one of our core values and our team in Scotland has recently become one of the first to deploy the PCS SkySiren for Scissor Category MEWP’s on their project at Faifley Campus, in collaboration with Nationwide Platforms.   Currently being successfully trialled on two scissor lifts, the new equipment ensures the safety of the user by alerting and automatically stopping the platform if it detects potential hazards via its’ ultrasonic sensors. The operator can restart the MEWP, once they have checked and resolved any health and safety issues   Scott Russell CMIOSH PIEMA, Dalkia QSHE Business Partner said, ‘This underscores our commitment to integrating state-of-the-art safety technologies in the workplace to ensure the protection of our colleagues.’   #PeopleFirst #HealthAndSafety #CuttingEdge

  • Our recent induction event welcomed 20 talented new recruits to our apprentice and trainee programme, marking the beginning of their exciting careers with us.   The induction began with what truly matters - health, safety, and well-being - before moving on to key sessions, including insights into our numerous business sectors, technical processes, and an inspiring Q&A with former apprentices who shared their experiences, advice, and plenty of laughs.   But it didn’t stop there! Over 80 apprentices, mentors, and managers came together to tackle the epic challenges at Ninja Warrior UK in Sheffield. This high-energy activity showcased not only individual determination and strength but also the power of teamwork and mutual support - proving that we’re always Better Together!   We can’t wait to see what the Class of 2024 achieves as they grow, learn, and contribute to making a positive impact. Welcome to Dalkia - here’s to your success and achieving great things together! 🏃♂️💪   #PeopleFirst #BetterTogether #Apprenticeships #FutureTalent
