About us
Cycle Sisters is an award-winning charity which inspires and enables Muslim women to cycle. Our journey started in 2016 when our founder, Sarah Javaid, set up our first Muslim women’s community cycle group in Waltham Forest. Our first group started with just Sarah, her friend and sisters in law. Since then, we've grown to have multiple groups and support hundreds of women to cycle! We are passionate about ensuring that Muslim women have access to cycling without having to compromise cultural or religious values.

I had the privilege of training 7 more amazing sisters as Ride Leaders for our Cycle Sisters groups in Lambeth, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, and Redbridge. They all completed the British Cycling Ride Leadership Level 1 Award. These inspiring women are now ready to lead rides, build confidence, and empower even more Muslim women to get cycling! A huge shoutout to our new Ride Leaders – I can’t wait to see you in action! I really need to remember to take photos 😬 #CycleSisters #RideLeaders #MuslimWomenCycling #Empowerment
