Cardiovascular diseases threaten to overtake infectious diseases as the leading cause of death in Africa, according to experts at The University of Edinburgh and University of Essex, in collaboration with the World Heart Federation 🫀 A lack of #AirPollution monitoring and research is preventing evidence-based policies and interventions, tailored to African communities, that could save lives. #AirQuality projects are critically underfunded, receiving less than 1% of international development funding, and only 3% of global public #ClimateFinance.
