The Muslim Nativity Story As the festive season approaches, Darul Isra Central Mosque is delighted to host an insightful evening with Sheikh Dr. Mansur Ali, an esteemed Academic and Islamic Scholar from Cardiff University. He will present "The Muslim Nativity Story", offering a unique perspective on Jesus (peace be upon him), Mary, and the miracle of his birth. Our version of the nativity story includes familiar elements such as the 3 Wise Kings, the Star of Bethlehem, and King Herod. In the spirit of interfaith understanding and shared learning, we warmly invite you to join us: Thursday, 19th December 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM Darul Isra Mosque, Wyeverne Rd, Cathays, CF24 4BG This event is open to everyone, especially those who may have never visited a mosque before. No special attire is required, though you’ll be asked to remove your shoes upon entry. Expect a warm welcome, hot drinks, and lots of snacks. 🌳 Rhiwbina Primary School in North Cardiff are among 49 recipients across the UK to receive a sapling from the felled Sycamore Gap Tree, which stood at Hadrian’s Wall until it was unexpectedly cut down in September 2023. The National Trust made the announcement during National Tree Week after nearly 500 applications were received for the 49 saplings – one to represent each foot in height that the tree was at the time of felling. Rhiwbina Primary School was successful in its entry which described how pupils have a real passion for learning about nature, and love being outdoors at every opportunity. Do take a look at our latest blog which looks at answering the question ‘What is the Value of Tutoring?’👩🏫 Written for the first time for us by our new blog writer, Dr Daniel Chesse. Packed full of reasons and evidence which discuss the positive impact of Tuition. The blog reflects upon the findings of The Sutton Trust, an educational charity and advocacy group, who in 2023 and 2014 concluded that private tuition, and those who are able to access it, increased the likelihood of entry to the most selective universities and the highest-paying career paths. The Sutton Trust also concluded that any increase in access to private tuition was only likely to reduce the gap in attainment and life outcome between the highest and lowest percentiles of students. Do take a look at the blog itself for more convincing arguments ! 📚 If we can help and support with daytime or after school do get in touch !📲 https://lnkd.in/ePgekwcS #education #tutoring #privatetuition
