Food justice means: "everyone has access to nutritious, affordable and culturally appropriate food, which is grown, produced, sold and consumed in ways that care for people and the environment." That's our mission at BLFF. Addressing food justice means a lot of areas of food, including addressing the huge dominance of ultra-processed foods in our food system. The work that Chris Van Tulleken and many others are doing on ultra-processed foods is so important - how we transition away from them is a much harder question! They ensure their members comply with the Extended Producer Responsibility regulations and enable them to make sustainable packaging decisions via data and insights. Having been B Corp certified since 2020, they are committed to balancing profit with social and environmental performance. Their incredible contribution will go a long way toward our mission of ensuring that everyone in Bristol has access to healthy, locally sourced food. And this donation, moves BLFF closer to our goal of raising £150,000 by the end of this year.
