Known for its ghostly features and high-pitched screech, the barn owl is likely responsible for the creation of the legend of the Banshee in Ireland, and now, just in time for Halloween, our Breedon Barn Owls have fledged their nest.🦉 Being Northern Ireland’s most endangered bird, with less than 30 breeding pairs in the country, Barn Owl conservation is at the forefront of importance. We can now confirm that at one of our sites in the Belfast Hill’s we have had the first recorded breeding pair of Barn Owls in the area in over 50 years! Licensed professionals carefully gave the chicks their tracking rings and recorded key information about the birds.
