    As the year draws to a close, it's been a good time to reflect on the journey we’ve been on at Bippit this year—and more importantly, the profound, life-changing impact we’ve had on the lives of so many people. Our mission has always been clear: to democratise access to professional financial support, and empower individuals with the tools, expert guidance, and confidence to take control of their finances. We've onboarded some brilliant businesses this year, and seen that mission in action like never before. ✅ We’ve guided individuals through life’s most daunting moments—buying their first homes, navigating divorce, redundancy, planning for retirement—and helped them come out stronger on the other side. ✅ We’ve helped people get out of the cycle of debt, replacing financial anxiety with a sense of security and stability. ✅ We’ve supported working parents planning for their children’s futures, ensuring their dreams don’t come at the cost of their own financial wellbeing. ✅ We’ve worked with workplaces to create financial wellbeing programs that not only improve financial literacy but also build inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive. 💡 9/10 people have never spoken to a financial professional about money - and many of our app users are much earlier on in their financial journey who would otherwise face significant accessibility barriers and often turn to inappropriate solutions for their financial support.     If the UK’s financial inequality had a 2024 wrap, here’s what it would sound like: → The average pension pot of a minority ethnic individual is less than half the size of that of a white British individual. → This is also the case for women. Women’s pension pots are 55% smaller on average than men’s by the time they reach retirement age. → Pay gaps have also reached this 2024 wrap. The disability pay gap has hit a staggering level of 17.2%. → This wouldn’t be a financial inequality wrap without carers. 1.2 million unpaid carers live in poverty. This is impact on real people. The ethnic minority individuals unable to retire. The carers choosing between their own needs and those of others. The women and disabled employees being left behind. What can HR do? 🎓 Start with education: Build awareness around pay gaps and financial disparities. You can check Dianne Greyson if you want to learn more about the ethnicity pay gap. Lottie is a company that champions for carer's wellbeing. And of course, I speak about financial inclusion a lot, specially for women and disabled people! 💪 Champion inclusive financial wellbeing: Offer benefits like pension guidance, financial coaching, and tailored support. Make sure these benefits are not a one-size-fits-all! 🔍 Close the gaps: Review pay, pensions, and policies to ensure equity at every level.     Making Money Make Sense

    Parents face further financial strain following the Autumn Statement changes. Due to NI hikes, nursery fees will likely increase to balance the books. But childcare fees are just one of the many additional financial costs that come with being a parent. I found myself talking to my sister about a junior SIPP for my 18-month-old niece, mainly because pensions have consumed me to the point it’s a key personality trait of mine… …like the person who’s training for a marathon or who’s recently bought an air fryer. But saving for your kids' future is yet another financial responsibility to add to the list for parents. Which makes these stats from recent Bippit research not so surprising: 💡 Parents are 1.2x more likely to be stressed about money. 💡 Parents are 1.3x more likely to worry about unexpected costs.
