As we wrap up the year (festive pun intended!), we’re thrilled to announce that planning permission has been secured for two of our projects this week! 'A future working upgrade' to The Buckley Building in Clerkenwell, for CBRE Investment Management - a project we first worked on in 2013, and a reimagining of Colmore Gate for Ashtrom Properties U.K Ltd, a 1980s office tower in central Birmingham. These milestones represent our continued commitment to delivering innovative and impactful design. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing these projects one step closer to reality! Buckley Gray Yeoman are Shoreditch originals. Based in east London since the practice was established in 1997, we create architecture and interior design that balances depth and delight. We describe ourselves as agents of opportunity. We take what we find – on the ground and in the brief – and uncover unanticipated possibilities. The changes we deliver are executed with a strong sense of responsibility to our clients, but we never forget that design must also make you feel good. Our work is sensitive, thorough and authentic, but it is also unapologetically joyful and surprising. Our family has grown from a group of three friends to a team of almost a hundred, which now has collective ownership of the practice. We have also spread our geographical wings, delivering projects across the UK and Europe, each carefully tuned to its own specific place and time. Making buildings with both depth and delight demands a very special kind of studio culture. Ours promotes trust, cultivates talent and celebrates independent thought because, like all Shoreditch originals, we enjoy sitting just the right side of unconventional.

BREEAM Excellent finally secured on Seymour Mews House. SMH is the Blue Coast Capital HQ and is another fine example of the type of high quality workspace that we have delivered over the years. Tony Parrack Ian Bradshaw Paul Grindal Philippa Lambert Working in partnership with The Portman Estate the building completed in 2019 (by me and ahead of its time!) this retro fit first project is located in the heart of Marylebone. The majority of the building structure was retained during the construction process and we were able to deliver a best in class, all electric, amenity rich workspace and it is great to be able to secure this accreditation. We’re thrilled to share that Rachael Owens, our Head of Sustainability, has been invited to join the advisory panel for the Good Growth in Practice initiative, led by the The London School of Architecture. This 12-month programme, delivered in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and The Crown Estate, focuses on supporting underrepresented practice owners in architecture and the wider construction industry. With its aim to drive meaningful change, the initiative explores three critical areas: Procurement Equity, Sustainable and Equitable Business Ecosystems & Business Growth and Development. Through workshops, case studies, peer-to-peer learning, and the creation of actionable tools, this programme will provide practical and impactful support to its participants. The advisory board, which Rachael is honoured to sit on, will play a vital role in shaping the programme’s direction by offering strategic advice and expertise. We’re incredibly proud of Rachael and excited to contribute to a programme that prioritises sustainability, equity, and inclusive growth in our industry. On Wednesday, Ben Oram, Head of Technical at BGY and Chair of the ATLG - Architectural Technical Leads Group, will be participating in the roundtable discussion, "One Year On: Delivering the BR PD Role Under the BSA." The roundtable will reflect on the industry's first year of delivering BRPD services, focusing on how to effectively fulfill duty holder roles, addressing challenges, and sharing knowledge. As part of the roundtable, ADM, GIRI, and participants are inviting the industry to complete a short survey on BRPD fees. This survey aims to provide insights into this aspect of the role in the market and foster better alignment across the industry. It is designed to collect anonymised data on the popularity of various delivery models, as well as fee levels and structures used for the role. The survey results will serve as a basis for discussions at a series of roundtable events, co-hosted by ADM, GIRI, and Hawkins\Brown, over the coming months. Works are well underway at Systems, our reinvention of a rare 1930s building in West London The new design will celebrate the building’s unique and undeniable character By retaining the original, imposing facades and leaving the concrete structure exposed internally, we will honour the building’s history and architecture Through our re-use of the existing structure, 9,500 tonnes of carbon emissions will be saved, compared to a demolish and rebuild approach A two storey extension will be added on top of the original structure - providing light-filled office space with views over London and access to a landscaped wraparound terrace Designed with health and wellbeing in mind, we’ve put a focus on enhancing biodiversity and urban greening A three storey rear extension will provide greenspace and landscaped green roofs to every floor The new reception has been designed to become a vibrant public space, providing exciting amenities to both neighbours and building users With design-led, contemporary workspaces and a boutique style health and wellness offering, we will create a new exciting hub for this characterful neighbourhood And as part or our company-wide ambition to deliver a bespoke framework of initiatives that create long-term and meaningful social value for our neighbours and wider society in every project - last week we kickstarted our youth outreach initiative Part of our wider programme set to span the entire construction process and future operation of the building, this initiative invited postgraduate architecture students at the University of East London to tour the building to investigate and learn about the construction process and how a project’s vision transforms through the design, procurement and construction process into built form They then produce their own report and perspective on resolving specific matters, becoming almost a real collaborator in the project, which gives them invaluable real-life experience for their future practice Fusing user experience with beautiful architecture, cutting edge technology with nature; and with a resolute focus on user wellbeing and community benefit, Systems will redefine how the world’s most innovative businesses work in London while making a positive contribution to users, local neighbours and wider society A Neo Capital and General Projects concept #restoration #retrofit #heritage
