MEASURING THE SUCCESS OF 15-MINUTE CITIES
At Day Two of Summer School 2024 (Innovation in Town and City Climate Action)
At Day One of Summer School, Carlos Moreno will outline his vision of the 15 Minute City. On Day Two, we will take the opportunity to explore the concept from different dimensions.
'Measuring the Success of 15-Minute Cities' will explore how Beauclair Ltd’s data could measure retail spend within 15 minute towns and cities, and within “connected or living neighbourhoods” to empirically evaluate success, which types of retail are changing / benefiting e.g. Food and Drink vs Grocery, demonstrate WHERE customers are coming from (e.g. within the 15 minute area or beyond), and WHO THEY ARE terms of age, affluence etc.)
It will also share a case study of the IMPACT OF PEDESTRIANISATION on retail spend, and ask whether sales increased or decreased overall, looking at which days/retail sectors/customer types were impacted the most.
Finally, it will open up to a discussion on the economic merits or flaws in the 15-Minute City concept in different destinations.
This discussion will be led by Beauclair Ltd and facilitated by the Chair of the ATCM Advisory Council, Stefan Gurney SFIPM.
