Over the last week our colleagues have been taking part in activities to raise money for deserving causes. Festive jumpers were sported across our 3 sites and remotely, raising a wonderful £293 for Save the Children UK Christmas Jumper Day. Additionally, our Christmas Quiz amongst keen quizzing colleagues raised £403 for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. Thank you to Rebecca Priest, Charlotte Ryman, and Amelia Melluish for arranging these events, and to all who took part and contributed. A special mention and virtual round of 👏 to Amanda King (quizmaster extraordinaire) and Jenna Hussey (bring the online quiz to life) - both have definitely missed their calling!

I can't quite believe I'm saying this, but...in April next year I will be taking part in a charity boxing match to raise money for the Adare SEC charity of the year Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. This year as a team, we have taken on several different challenges and initiatives to raise money for this amazing cause and I am so, so proud of what we have been able to achieve so far 💗 BUT, it's time to raise the game! I'll be completing 8 weeks of professional training before the fight and I'd love to raise as much money as possible to add to our grand total! This week some of our Marketing and Exec Team, including our CEO Tony Strong, had the pleasure of volunteering at Thewelcomecentre in Huddersfield. Helping around 650 people each week, our colleagues were pleased to offer their time and support to this amazing cause by spending the afternoon packing food parcels and sorting deliveries. The Welcome Centre have spent more than 20 years helping families and individuals with food, toiletries, and other essentials through their food bank programme. More recently they have also recognised a growing need to offer people advice, guidance and support to tackle the underlying issues causing them to be in crisis. Seeing the operation in action was really inspiring and we'd like to say a big thank you to Jess and the whole team for making us feel so welcome. We will hopefully be back again very soon! We’re very proud of this piece of work which captures the attitudes and expectations of 2000 UK consumers relating to customer and citizen communications. As PrintWeek’s headline states, the report’s findings show a high demand for organisations to offer communication choice and convenience via a considered blend of digital and ‘traditional’ channels. The report covers a lot of ground, including latest consumer attitudes to AI and thoughts on the importance of sustainability in decision-making. The big red box is back! Excited to launch our Christmas food collection today in support of The Trussell Trust. For the second year in a row our Huddersfield site will be donating food to support people over the festive period and beyond. The Trussell Trust are working towards a future without the need for emergency food banks. A huge shout out to our Account Director Jason Shaw who is a Volunteer Community First Responder for Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Jason recently used his Day to Make a Difference volunteering day to give CPR training at a local school in Leeds as part of the national Restart a Heart day on the 16th October 2024. Jason’s classes reached around 300 pupils, ranging from 9 through to 16 years old. This is vital work as less than one in ten people in the UK survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest but thousands more lives could be saved by starting CPR Immediately. Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust currently has nearly 1,000 active volunteer Community First Responders in 288 communities, and they play a vital part in responding to emergencies close by and ensuring patients get the best possible care before an ambulance arrives on scene.
