  • This week is Safeguarding Adults week - and the Sport Welfare Officers have all worn green to show their support! Throughout the week, our Sport Welfare Officer, Emma, has been busy engaging in training and events: ✅Emma broadened her knowledge by attending further Adult Safeguarding Training with Surrey County Council. ✅She gained key insights from leading experts and connected with other Sport Welfare Officers at the Ann Craft Trust conference. ✅ Emma will join one of the Ann Craft Trust's free sessions focused on understanding County Lines, an important area of safeguarding. ✅On Sunday, Emma will attend the Royal Yachting Association Connected Conference, hearing from Frensham Pond Sailing Club on managing and maintaining safety standards. Last week, our board members completed safeguarding training and next week, it’s the Active Surrey team’s turn to get stuck into learning! Adult safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We’re reinforcing our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all. 💪🏼 If you have any safeguarding questions or concerns, get in touch with us at: [email protected]. #safeguardingadultsweek Active Partnerships

We're delighted by the success of our first Physical Activity Behavior Change training sessions for health professionals in East Surrey! 👏🏼 ✅ The sessions explored how behavioural science can be used to engage residents in person centered conversations - supporting them to be more active to prevent disease and better manage their symptoms. 🙌🏼 Thank you to all who attended - among those trained were GPs, physiotherapists, social prescribers, rehab assistants and more. Attendees reported feeling more confident in having conversations with residents about being more active, as well as feeling better equipped to identify residents’ barriers to activity. “These strategies are extremely helpful, and I’ll definitely be implementing them in my interactions with patients!" There are last-minute slots available for the training in Chertsey next Wednesday.
