📢 Today is Carers' Rights Day and this year's theme is recognising your rights. Every day, 12,000 people in the UK become unpaid carers for a partner, family member, or friend—many of whom don't see themselves as carers and are often unaware of their legal rights and what they're entitled to in terms of support and benefits. 👉🏽 We want to help carers recognise and understand their rights and access the support they need whenever needed. We can help with practical, financial, and legal concerns about your caring role and offer general support, advice, and information. If you are or know someone who is a Carer in Surrey, you can register with us for FREE; all support is confidential. To register visit: https://lnkd.in/gnmztpK Or, if you prefer, you can call or email via: ☎0303 040 1234. It's open 9am-5pm on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays, and open 9am-6pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. 📱Text us on (SMS) 07723 486730 ✉ Send us an email [email protected] ⭐ You can also come along to one of our Carer Information Fairs this week at FARNHAM (Thursday), MERSTHAM & LEATHERHEAD (Friday) and GUILDFORD (Saturday) #CarersRightsDay #CarersSurrey #UnpaidCarers #YourRights #CarersRights2024 #SurreyCarers #Surrey

Have you ever considered being a Charity Trustee? We are looking for a couple more people to join our Board of Trustees. Trusteeships are unpaid voluntary roles and are non-executive, meaning that they are collectively responsible for setting strategy and ensuring governance and that the organisation holds to their vision and mission. They do not carry out the day-to-day work of the charity and they currently meet four times a year. If you would be interested or know someone who might be perfect as a new Action for Carers Trustee, please visit our website for more information and details on how to apply: https://lnkd.in/eYNGBXPs

Could you help make a carer’s Christmas and donate a gift? Are you or organisation looking to make a charitable donation this year? Gifts range in price from £6.99 – £17.99 and you can select one or more gifts depending on your budget. We would be very grateful for donations this year, with the gift list closing on Friday 22nd November. Christmas can be challenging for carers, as money is often tight, and people can be isolated. Gifts go to our most in need carers – identified by our staff – from people under pressure caring alone, to families struggling to make ends meet. If you can help all you need to do is pick an item from our Amazon wish list, and it will be delivered to us to give out to carers, either posted, or hand-delivered by our wonderful team of volunteers – who’ll help spread your Christmas cheer! Gifts range in price from £6.99 – £17.99 Thank you to everyone who has already donated 🤗

Carers Rights Day takes place on Thursday 21st November. It’s a national event at which unpaid carers are encouraged to learn about their rights, and we all work to ensure they get all the support they need. Across the week around Carers Rights Day (from Monday, the 18th, to Saturday, the 23rd). We are running Carer Information Fairs, focusing on carers’ rights. Our team will be joined by various Surrey charities and organisations, forming a supportive community to answer practical, financial, and legal questions about your caring role and offer general support, advice, and information. If you are a carer or a Surrey based company that would learn more about supporting people with caring responsibilities then we would very much like us join us. Please visit our Carers Rights Information Fair page for dates, times and Surrey locations: https://lnkd.in/dTJXsjrd #CarersRightsDay #CarersRightsDay2024 #SurreyCarers #SurreyCharity
