Indeed this was a big and replenishing gesture by the Acting ED Frank Rusa. Management by Walking Around (MBWA), we believe will improve open and direct communication, increase employee engagement, productivity as well as providing an opportunity for feedback. #ForABetterCity

MANAGEMENT BY WALKING AROUND(MBWA): I first learnt about this management style during Post Graduate School and appreciated its effectiveness in leadership. Recently at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), it was so humbling to see the Ag. Executive Director, Frank Rusa leave his desk to intentionally connect with staff/ employees in their work spaces to get a sense of how things are going. Mr Rusa shared how he strongly believes in this leadership style which was emphasized during his Masters in Public Administration training at the Prestigious Harvard University and Leadership training from Yale University among others. To embrace MBWA, his goal is to understand Employees and their work better and to show them that he is approachable & interested in their well being. This gesture gave many of us renewed hope of a promising future for the City. He strongly advocates at building a SMART Team to achieve a SMART City. As Employees of KCCA, Kampala is Our City, Our Responsibility. The Ag ED reignited our morale to work towards achieving the Vision of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) that is : To be a vibrant, Attractive & Sustainable City. He was able to listen to the ideas of staff, observe operations, communicate with Employees to keep their fingers on the pulse of the Organization in order to achieve effective operational focus & enhanced efficiency. The Citizenry is expecting delivery of quality services and we are committed to this stewardship. #transformationalinitiatives #buildingsmartteamstobuildasmartCity #ForabetterKampala

The Valuation Court, a judicial platform established to resolve property tax disputes, has powers akin to a Magistrate’s Court and provides a fair and impartial system for property owners to seek redress over tax concerns, including disputes over valuations and requests for tax exemptions. Following a fire incident in Chamuka zone, Kamwokya II in Central Division in October this year, we approached partners for help to the victims. Today, our partner Uganda Red Cross Society came through after identifying 100 vulnerable persons to benefit from this response and these were supported with non food items. These included blankets, mosquito nets, mats, solar lamps, saucepans, plates, cups, soap and (20 ltr) jerrycans among others. Thank you for your continuous support 👏 👏 👏 #PartnerWithKCCA #ForABetterCity
