2020 Democrat Michael Bennet is running to 'annoy Ted Cruz'
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has a lot of enemies in the 2020 Democratic race.
Cruz first spent months trashing Beto O'Rourke back when the two were vying for Cruz's Senate seat, oddly calling O'Rourke a "Whataburger liberal" and some other weird things. Now, he's taken to labeling Sen. Michael Bennet's (D-Co.) run a "Seinfeld campaign" because it's "about nothing" — to which Bennet had a short and sweet response.
Notice the crafty "/crocodiletears" at the end of the link to Bennet's donation page. It's a reference to his passionate takedown of Cruz's "crocodile tears" over the government shutdown back in January — a moment that first raised 2020 speculation about Bennet.

It's smart for Bennet to name drop a well-known senator sometimes called "the most hated politician in America," seeing as Bennet needs all the attention he can get. He was the 21st Democrat the enter the race, and has little more than a month to either raise $65,000 or earn more than one percent in three polls to qualify for the debates.
