1.39. Error: CMp3FormatInfo:ParseDescription


Note: This is more likely to occur on older versions of Kurzweil 3000 on newer operating systems.


 

Issue:

 

Upon opening of Kurzweil 3000, several errors are received reading similar to the below:

CMp3FormatInfo:ParseDescription can't parse 128 kBit/s, 32.000Hz, Mono

Troubleshooting:

Windows 7:

 

Please download the file below that has the "Mp3Convert.ocx" file:

 

http://support.cambiumtech.com/index.php?pg=file&from=2&id=264


Please go to Start > Computer and copy this file into below, based on your operating system type:

 

X86 Windows: C:\Program Files\Kurzweil Educational System\Common Files

X84 Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Common Files

 

You may receive a prompt that the file already exists, ignore and replace with this file.

 

This should resolve this issue.

 

Windows 8 x64,Windows 10:

Please download the file below that has the "Mp3Convert.ocx" file:

1. Navigate to your list of drives, from Windows 8 that would be the folder icon on your taskbar.

2. Go to you C: Drive by expanding Computer

3. Put the file in the: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Common Files

You may receive a prompt that the file already exists, ignore and replace with this file.
