Job Description: We are seeking a friendly, creative, and motivated individual to join our dance studio as a Dance Studio Assistant for our front desk and in dance classes.
_*Hours are mornings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm, with some Tuesday afternoons and a few weekends in December and May for performances.
*_ As an integral part of our team, you will provide valuable support to both the front desk operations and dance teachers during classes.
If you have a passion for dance, enjoy working with people, and possess excellent organizational skills, this role is perfect for you! Responsibilities: - Greet and welcome students, parents, and visitors in a warm and friendly manner.
- Assist with inquiries regarding class schedules, registration, and general studio information.
- Process student registrations, enrollments, and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Ensure dance studio supplies are well-stocked and organized.
- Provide general administrative support to the studio manager or director.
- Assist dance teachers in setting up and preparing for classes, including props, sound systems, and dance flooring.
-Substitute dance classes as needed.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and supportive environment during dance classes.
- Assist students with warm-up exercises, stretching, and dance techniques as needed.
- Demonstrate dance steps or routines to aid student learning when necessary.
- Provide feedback and encouragement to students during class to enhance their progress and motivation.
- Assist with costume fittings, recitals, and other performance-related activities.
Requirements: - High School Diploma - Bachleor's degree in Dance, Early Childhood Development (or working towards) a plus - Previous experience in customer service or administrative roles is advantageous.
- Possess solid communication and interpersonal skills, be proficient in reading, writing, and effectively communicating with customers, peers, and management, and have computer skills such as email, Google Suite, and retail point of sale.
-Math skills, telephone etiquette, the ability to multitask while remaining attentive to customers and flexible to the studio's needs, physical endurance, customer service focus, enthusiasm, friendliness, and energy are also required.
- A passion for dance and a basic understanding of dance terminology.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a few weekends for performances, as needed.
- Ability to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for students and families.
