The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Dixie L.
Leavitt School of Business at Southern Utah University seeks applicants for a Lecturer in Finance (NTT) or Assistant Professor of Finance (NTT).
This is a permanent, full-time nine-month non-tenure-track position to begin on August 16, 2024.
Rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Salary and benefits are competitive and are also commensurate with qualifications and experience.
We are looking for applicants with a Master of Business Administration or Master of Finance degree, who will provide excellent teaching and student mentoring, while maintaining scholarly or professional engagement requirements per AACSB standards.
Service to the department, school, and university is also expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent instruction in graduate and undergraduate courses in finance, both on-campus and online.
Teaching duties may be varied, but will likely include courses in personal finance, insurance and risk management, entrepreneurial finance, managerial finance and other finance courses as assigned.
The anticipated teaching load is generally 5 courses per semester, depending on faculty qualifications.
Summer courses may be available to teach for additional compensation.
Meet scholarly and/or professional engagement requirements to maintain qualification in the appropriate AACSB category.

Engage and mentor students in the exploration of career opportunities and job placement in alignment with the mission and vision of the Dixie L.
Leavitt School of Business and Southern Utah University.
Work in a team-based environment and provide service to the department, school, and Southern Utah University.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
In accordance with Utah State Code 53B-1-110, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Earned Master of Business Administration or Master of Finance Degree or other closely related master's degree.
Applicants must meet the Leavitt School of Business faculty qualification standards for the appropriate AACSB classification.
Applicants with a master's degree must meet the academic and professional requirements to be qualified in the Scholarly Practitioner (SP) category or the professional requirements to be qualified in the Instructional Practitioner (IP) category.
Applicants must demonstrate an ability to provide an excellent educational experience for students.

Preferred Qualifications:
For candidates with an MBA an emphasis in Finance is preferred.
Relevant professional experience: three years (Lecturer) and five years (Assistant Professor).
Three years relevant teaching experience at the university level.
Experience with online course development and teaching.
