BEYOND THE RALLY The concept of "Beyond the Rally" was inspired by observations of ship crane operations, particularly during the loading and discharging of cargo. It reflects the idea of reaching beyond the immediate confines of a ship's rally point, extending efforts outward with care, compassion, and camaraderie. In the context of ship crew relationships, camaraderie is often forged among crew members of various nationalities during their time onboard. However, when a crew member falls sick or set back and is required to sign off early or end their contract, this spirit of camaraderie is sometimes challenged. "Beyond the Rally" is about extending this bond beyond the physical and operational boundaries of the ship—a freewill act of kindness and humanity to support a fellow crew member during their most vulnerable moments. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Captain Samisoni and the crew onboard the Capitaine Wallis for exemplifying this spirit of "Beyond the Rally." Their act of kindness went above and beyond when they provided safe drinking water to a seasonal crew member whose contract was cut short due to a rare illness, resulting in their admission to Hospital during this festive season. The gesture—each 19 crew member donating a bottle of water from their personal ration—demonstrates a profound message of love and care. It is a reminder of how fragile human life can be and how acts of compassion transcend race, religion, and nationality. The crew's selfless actions embody the universal spirit of humanity and emphasize the importance of looking after one another, especially in times of need. This act of kindness has profoundly uplifted the spirits of the sick crew member, giving them hope, motivation, and a renewed sense of purpose as they navigate this challenging period in their life. May God bless Captain Samisoni and the crew of the Capitaine Wallis for their extraordinary display of love and humanity. Such actions serve as an inspiration to most of us. Vinaka Fiji Water. Safe Voyage

  • Our ships go to some amazing places ⚓ The Capitaine Kupe services our MICROPAC trade route connecting the world - via Fiji - to Tuvalu and Kiribati with quarterly voyages to Kiritimati (Christmas Islands). This video shows just how beautiful these ports are to berth in - so we want our Kupe looking her best too. She is currently in "Dry Dock" getting cleaned, painted and having all her cranes and equipment serviced before returning fresh and new in the New Year. NPDL is proud to be of service to the good people of Tuvalu and Kiribati we ship supplies to. On behalf of our staff and crew we'd like to thank you all for your continued support to make this essential service work 🛳️

Christmas has come early for the children at the Aspen Medical-managed Lautoka Public Hospital in Fiji. 🎄 🎅 Thanks to the efforts of our own team, FIJI Water Foundation, FIJI Water, and Neptune Pacific Direct Line, the Children's Ward received a makeover thanks to the Wonderful Neighbour program. The ward's waiting area and restroom facilities were refreshed, with a new washing machine, dryer, swing set and trikes were donated. The additional work included cleaning, painting, tiling, renovations, landscaping, and utility installations. Aspen Medical’s CEO in Fiji, Gavin Whiteside, expressed gratitude for the community's support and shared that the work done by the foundation will benefit many families for years to come. #AspenMedical #AspenMedicalFiji #LautokaHospital #SocialImpact #WonderfulNeighbour

The Neptune Pacific Direct Line Tahiti was at our Multipurpose Terminal recently as part of its monthly container service between Port of Newcastle and the South Pacific. Utilising the on-berth mobile harbour cranes, containers with poultry feed were loaded onto the vessel by stevedores LINX Cargo Care Group. The feed is produced in the New England Region, before being transported to Newcastle and exported to Fiji. 🌟 Reflecting on My First WISTA New Zealand Event: A Step Forward for Women in Shipping 🌟 Yesterday I had the privilege of organizing my very first event for WISTA in partnership with the New Zealand Maritime School . The day was an incredible success! Attendees participated in one of two immersive simulator sessions, experiencing firsthand the cutting-edge technology used to train maritime professionals. We also highlighted the Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain and Shipping (Level 7), sparking interest among participants keen to expand their expertise. To foster networking and camaraderie, we enjoyed a delightful boxed lunch between sessions, giving members the opportunity to connect with WISTA peers and meet key faculty from MIT. As someone passionate about promoting opportunities for women in shipping, I’m thrilled that this event also underscored the shared commitment of Neptune Pacific Direct Line and the New Zealand Maritime School to support women entering and excelling in this dynamic industry. A big thank you to everyone who attended, and to the New Zealand Maritime School team for their incredible collaboration! Here’s to many more events empowering women in shipping. 🚢🌍 If you or anyone you know is interested in a role with a company that promote diversity and inclusion, then please apply via our careers website. 🚢 Auckland WISTA Event - NZ Maritime School Bridge Simulator Tour 🚢 The New Zealand Maritime School features seven full mission bridge simulators, with the ability to link the bridge to the engine room, making it the largest maritime simulator in the Southern Hemisphere. Yesterday, WISTA toured the facility and experienced the simulators, which enable berth-to-berth operations for all New Zealand and many major international ports. We also experienced the specialised tug master training simulators with their two dedicated TugSim bridges, including optimal views over the bow, to port, starboard and astern.    Shipping, logistics and freight are industries at the heart of our society. To explore qualifications offered by the Maritime School, visit https://lnkd.in/gqwNgMMV.   Check out the below photos of the day and see if you can spot the upside down cargo ship. Let’s just say, it’s a good thing we’re not in charge of steering ships anytime soon!   A big thank you to Kees Buckens and Nicola Pretty for hosting WISTA and sharing your knowledge and technical expertise with us.

  • Neptune Pacific Direct Line - Doing Good in the Community 🌊💙 Today our Auckland office had a beach clean up in Point England - a coastal location where rubbish tends to accumulate frequently. For a Global Shipping Company, looking after the environment starts at a local level wherever our teams are based. Thank you to Sarah Peters from Auckland Council for the advice and support, Eyesea for the inspiration, and a big thank you from NPDL and Mother Earth to everyone who got involved... ...and special thanks to Maha Khan for coordinating the team today - ngā mihi nui 💙 #GoodInTheCommunity #NPDL #NeptunePacific #Auckland
