During our recent business trip to Taiwan, we took a little time to unwind and recharge over the weekend in between events and meetings. We made our way to the charming district of Sanxia, just a 30-minute drive from Taipei. Here’s what we got up to: 🛤️ Strolled down the historic Sanxia Old Street, soaking in its rich heritage 🍵 Sampled different oolong teas in a teahouse 🛍️ Picked up some unique souvenirs 🍮 Indulged in silky smooth beancurd (a must-try!) 🥾 Took a short hike for some fresh air and scenic views ♨️ Enjoyed a rejuvenating dip in the hot springs It was the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration—a gentle reminder that even in the busiest of schedules, a little self-care can go a long way. Where else would you recommend for a quick retreat or getaway from Taipei? Based on the theme 'Skilling Up to Scale Up – Productivity in the Face of Disruption', the event highlighted key findings from AmCham Singapore's 2024 Manpower Survey Report. Held at the Bloomberg Office at Capital Square on 22 November, it featured Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower, and Second Minister for Trade & Industry, as Guest of Honour. He shared valuable insights on Singapore’s strategic approach to balancing a skilled local workforce with global talent, emphasising the government’s commitment to fostering productivity-led growth through upskilling and collaboration with businesses. A panel of C-suite leaders further explored how organisations can adapt to the rapidly changing landscape by engaging and motivating employees to work smarter. Key discussions included the importance of talent attraction, retention, and breaking barriers for women in leadership through training, mentorship and succession planning.
