  • 🏆 [AmCham Women HERo Awards – Ally of the Year] #AmChamREPRESENT 🏆 💙 Congratulations to Wai Kit Cheah, Senior Director, Products & Solutions, Lumen Technologies - Ally of the Year in the MNC Category! 💪 Wai Kit has demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing gender equality and fostering an inclusive workplace at Lumen Technologies. His multifaceted approach encompasses mentorship, recruitment initiatives, and leadership of diversity programs, resulting in measurable progress towards gender parity. 💪 As a mentor, Wai Kit guides women through workplace challenges, fosters their professional development, and advocates for their career advancement. This includes recommending high-potential women for stretch assignments, highlighting their capabilities to senior management and facilitating their career advancement. He also promotes diversity in public representation by encouraging and coaching women to take on speaking roles at industry events and conferences. 💪 In recruitment, Wai Kit champions a Returnship-like approach, supporting women re-entering the workforce after career breaks. Though not formally institutionalized in Lumen, he consistently practices this approach in Lumen’s hiring practices, demonstrating his commitment to promoting workplace diversity, tapping into overlooked talent pools, supporting work-life balance for women, and challenging conventional hiring norms. 💪 As the executive sponsor of Lumen’s Women Empowered (WE) Employee Resource Group (ERG), Wai Kit has been instrumental in guiding and mentoring women leaders, resulting in the execution of some of our past impactful initiatives. Under his sponsorship, the WE ERG organized notable events in 2024, including a Mother’s Day celebration featuring a charity sale benefiting charity organization such as United Women Singapore. The WE ERG also coordinated the Women Empowered Mental Health Awareness Walk-A-Thon which supported and educated colleagues on mental health awareness. Wai Kit also hosted the inaugural WE Talk in April 2024, demonstrating his commitment to fostering dialogue, learning opportunities and dedication to addressing issues relevant to women in the workplace. It provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship challenges, work-life balance strategies, and practical solutions for working parents. 💪 Building upon the substantial progress achieved, Wai Kit envisions a future where gender equality is seamlessly integrated into Lumen’s corporate ethos and operational practices. He sincerely believes in leading by example, to foster a culture of valuing and celebrating differences in each of us, respecting each other, supporting each other to grow and ensuring fair and equal opportunities for all. Through leadership and mentorship, Wai Kit has improved Lumen’s work environment and contributed to broader discussions on equality in the tech industry. #dei #womeninbusiness #trailblazer #AmChamSGplus

  • 🏆 [AmCham Women HERo Awards – Ally of the Year] #AmChamREPRESENT 🏆 💙 Congratulations to Push Sharma, Founder and CEO, HaldyPlus Nutrition Pte Ltd. - Ally of the Year in the SME Category! 💪 Push Sharma is committed to making Haldy an inclusive and equitable workplace, with a strong focus on gender equality. He believes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) are essential to Haldy’s success and its lean startup culture. Push’s dedication to DE&I shapes hiring practices, team dynamics, and culture, particularly in addressing gender imbalances. 💪 A key example of this is the leadership of Haldy’s warehousing and logistics teams in Singapore, traditionally male-dominated, now led by women. This change not only supports DE&I goals but challenges gender norms, promoting equal opportunity. Push ensures that hiring at Haldy is bias-free, focusing on potential and merit, not gender. 💪 Push also works to empower women in roles where they have historically been underrepresented. He celebrates their achievements, showcases them on internal and social media, and encourages others to break barriers. This fosters a culture of recognition and inspiration for women to excel in their careers. 💪 Beyond Haldy, Push shares his DE&I passion through speaking engagements, such as at Oracle’s Town Hall event, hosted by Oracle Women in Leadership (OWL), where he discussed “The Power of Manifestation” and his experiences as a founder of Haldy and as an author of his debut Best Selling novel ‘Harried To Be Married’. 💪 As CEO, Push upholds fair practices in hiring, team development, and partnerships, focusing solely on talent, skills, and potential, regardless of gender or background. This commitment to DE&I is central to Haldy’s values and shapes its leadership, recruitment, and decision-making processes. 💪 Haldy’s DE&I efforts are not just about meeting quotas but building a culture of inclusion that drives innovation and performance. As Haldy expands, Push remains dedicated to ensuring a diverse and empowered workforce that can succeed and innovate. 💪 Push’s long-term vision is to maintain DE&I at the heart of Haldy’s mission, creating lasting change both within the company and in the wider community. #dei #womeninbusiness #ally #AmChamSGplus

  • 🏆 [AmCham Women HERo Awards – Trailblazer of the Year] #AmChamREPRESENT 🏆 ⭐ Congratulations to Angela Lee, FAIA, ACHA, LEED AP, EDAC, Managing Director, APAC, Europe and Middle East, Partner, HKS, Inc.. - Trailblazer of the Year in the MNC Category! ✨ Angela Lee first started her career in 1994 in a disciple where there was scarce women representation. With Angela’s consistent advocacy for women in the industry, and under her leadership, HKS has seen female representation grow from just 10 women employees across the firm when she joined in the 1990s, to about 772 today. Further, a majority of the firm, 51% are women, out of which 11 women hold leadership positions today. ✨ In 2022, Angela was elevated to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows, a prestigious honor that recognizes architects who have made significant contributions to the field. This accolade reflects her leadership and impact within the profession, including her commitment to fostering gender equality and promoting inclusive practices. After relocating to Singapore in 2016 and establishing the HKS office here, Angela assembled a team hailing from 12 different countries, with 50% of the staff are female and have included at least a member from the LGBTQ community. ✨ For Angela, her career, life, and volunteering all mesh. Within the profession, Angela strives to help young women (and men) stand up (and speak up) for themselves and their ideas, making a conscious effort to engage a diverse group of people and inclusive set of voices. ✨ Similar to her architectural career, Angela’s volunteer service and leadership spans the globe, elevating the standards of women worldwide. Her volunteer efforts in both Asia and the U.S. reflect a broader commitment to creating supportive and inclusive environments, which aligns with advancing gender equality. Angela has been a long-serving Board member of the Mosaic Family Services, an organization dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of human rights abuses such as domestic violence and human trafficking. She has also been involved in pro bono work, such as serving as principal-in-charge for the Don Bosco School project in Phnom Penh, Cambodia which provides great hope for many poor and abandoned girls in a country where more than half of the total population are female and where women are victims of violence, abuse and human trafficking. ✨ Angela’s past efforts and accomplishments are a testament to how she expertly rises to challenges, putting forth the right design solutions while tailoring her leadership style so teams can do their best work. Her vision includes continuing to promote advancement of women, particularly in leadership roles within the real estate industry and architecture. She aims to increase visibility of women leaders and support young women as they develop their careers, and advocate for policies and practices that support gender diversity and equity. #dei #womeninbusiness #trailblazer
