🎄 Ending the Year on a High Note: Unibap Secures €1.1M Order from Contec Space Optics 🚀 We’re thrilled to announce that Unibap AB has secured a €1.1M order for our #iX10 solution from South Korean payload provider Space Optics, a CONTEC (a.k.a CSO). This marks a significant achievement as CSO moves straight to a #constellation order—proof of the hard work and trust we've built over the past two years. CSO will integrate Unibap's iX10 edge computing technology with their advanced space optics, delivering a fully integrated payload to satellite integrators. Notably, this is also our first order from the Korean market, highlighting the success of our global sales expansion. 🎙️🇸🇪 Johan Åman, CEO at Unibap: "This is a testament to the trust we've earned and an important step in expanding into the Korean market." 🎙️🇰🇷 Young Choi, PhD, CEO at CSO: "This collaboration with Unibap marks a pivotal advancement in our mission to deliver cutting-edge satellite payload solutions to the global market."

Optical satellite payloads are evolving at an impressive rate 🚀 Our friends at Simera Sense are at the forefront, developing efficient, high-performance cameras with ever-increasing resolution and frame rate. However, to achieve this new level of performance, the solution generates a growing volume of data, leading to potential bottlenecks. 🤔 The Solution? State-of-the-art on board data processing, of course. How? By relying on Unibap’s edge computing solution, with its on-board data processing pipeline, where raw sensor data is efficiently processed to analyzable data, ready for object detection and compression: Simera Sense image ⬇️ Unibap processing pipeline ⬇️ App detecting objects, events, or doing compression Discover the full benefits of the process, transforming raw images into actionable information in real time, in our video demonstration 👇 #OnBoardComputing #EdgeComputingInSpace #HyperspectralImaging #MaritimeSurveillance

CATALYST, we totally agree! A great example and explanation of the potential impact that your algorithms can have on edge computing in space. We look forward to continuing this great collaboration next year!
As 2024 winds down, we are looking back at some of our most popular posts - starting with this collaboration with the brilliant team at Unibap AB. Together, we deployed an algorithm within Unibap AB's SpaceCloud Simulator to show the incredible potential and benefits off processing #data and automating tasks - such as #image selection- directly at the source. The result was a powerful example of how #EdgeComputing can reduce latency, improve #reliability and enhance #security for faster, more efficient image #processing and at a much lower cost. Here's how we did it ⬇ June McAlarey, CPA, CMA, MBA Kevin R Jones, EMBA

“As a hardware engineer, I found the expo to be an absolute treasure trove of innovation and insights. I was pleased to see that Unibap’s space edge computer, the iX10, was one of the standout attractions, and captured significant interest from partners, customers, and prospects.” Unibaps' Martin Westman is filled with enthusiasm and faith in the future when he summarizes his impressions from this year's Space Tech Expo Europe 2024 in Bremen. We believe that low latency will be the next game-changer in Earth observation. That's why we joined forces with Addvalue Innovation to enhance the value created by Unibap’s space-grade edge computers, by enabling real-time space surveillance. 🧠 Addvalue is a globally recognized leader in developing cutting-edge communications technology products. They specialize in state-of-the-art satellite-based solutions and innovative digital broadband products. When it comes to space surveillance, time is of the essence. Traditionally, detecting and tracking vessels, aircraft, and even wildfires from space has required transmitting vast amounts of raw data to Earth – a process that can take days. This results in delayed insights, offering only retrospective evidence rather than the crucial real-time information needed to take immediate action. 🛰️ The partnership between Unibap and Addvalue offers continuous access to actionable insights, enabling immediate responses to events as they unfold, instead of waiting days or weeks when it's often too late to act. Learn the whole story in the film below! 👇 #OnBoardComputing #EdgeComputingInSpace #SpaceSurveillance #SatelliteSurveillance

🎉 Exciting News from Unibap! 🚀 We’re thrilled to announce a significant follow-on order from Moog Space and Defense Group for products within our #iX10 platform, totaling $2.9M USD. Delivery is set for H1 2025. This new constellation project marks another milestone in our effort to become a trusted partner in both space and defense. The fact that it follows a previous constellation project, with the same partners, issued two years ago, demonstrates our ability to gain the recurring trust from the most demanding customers for the most attractive projects in the market. 📣 A Word from Our Leaders: “We are very pleased that we are designed in with our technology and products for critical missions from Moog Space and Defense Group. This important order represents another milestone in our commitment to technological innovation, agility to provide short lead times and quality of volume deliveries.” – Johan Åman, CEO “This constellation order from Moog Space and Defense Group ticks another of our key objectives for the end of the fiscal year, namely securing at least one additional constellation order. It gives us a strong foundation for next year.” – Emil R., CFO Thank you to our team and partners for making this possible. Together, we’re shaping the future of space technology! 🌌✨

💡 🇸🇪 Sweden is the second most innovative country on Earth, but is far from holding the same position in space. Why? Last week, Unibap AB participated in two important meetings looking for the answer. 👇 🇬🇧 🤝 🇸🇪 On Thursday, our VP of Space, Mathias Persson, gave a keynote speech at "Strategic Advantage in Space – United Kingdom and Sweden working together" – an event hosted by the British Embassy in Stockholm and Säkerhets- och försvarsföretagen (SOFF), intended promote national space strategies and capabilities of both #UK and #Sweden. Unibap had a strong presence, not only with Mathias presenting on the topic of “Looking ahead; AI and Quantum”, but also with our board members Karin Nilsdotter leading the whole event. Other important stakeholders included Andrew Smith from UK Space Command, Jason Gnaneswaran from UK Ministry of Defence, Tobias Steen from Swedish Departement of Defense (Regeringskansliet, Försvarsdepartementet), and Matthew Archer from UK Space Agency , together with representatives from, e.g., NATO and the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) 🛰 🇸🇪 Two days earlier, our Software Team Leader Alice Anlind gave a presentation at the SpaceTech Commercialization Summit in Gothenburg. The brainchild of Aaron Dinardi and hosted by our partners at AI Sweden, among others, the summit gathered key decision-makers, experts and space entrepreneurs from the non-traditional Swedish space sector, in an attempt to re-boot Swedish space innovation. Alice participated in the Entrepreneurship and Financing section with the underlying question how Unibap has managed to grow in an environment that is effectively structured against us. 🥈 🌍 The last decades have seen Sweden rise to the second most innovative country on Earth, but this success has not spilled over to Swedish endeavors in space. Instead, the Swedish space industry has found itself trailing not only traditional space nations like the US, but also newcomers like, Italy, Poland and Finland. These two events are a clear sign that Swedish authorities, particularly those in defense, are starting to see this problem, and the fact that companies like Unibap and not traditional players like GKN Aerospace, Beyond Gravity and OHB Sweden are invited to represent success stories and a way ahead, shows promise that Swedish innovation can become world-leading in Space just as on Earth. 🥇 🌌
