"We must anchor well-being within the planetary boundaries." These interesting words from Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of The Club of Rome, and Executive Chair of Earth4All shared the essence of her message during the Global Change Award Launch Summit in Mumbai earlier this fall. Sandrine guided us through her vision for the development of Earth4All, the way in which they bring forward sustainable pathways for the 21st century. She stated that our ability to address environmental challenges is directly linked to how quickly we tackle inequality and poverty. In other words, to effectively combat climate change and other global challenges, we must improve well-being and reduce social injustices. #earth4all

  • Thank you The Hindu for highlighting the work that is done by our partners Circular Apparel Innovation Factory (CAIF), Intellecap, Hasiru Dala and Sambhav Foundation as part of the multi-partner project Saamuhika Shakti in Bengaluru, India. The video captures the important messages around inclusivity, livelihood enhancement and collaboration. The Textile Recovery Facility this story extensively covers is part of a larger attempt to create a value chain for post-consumer textile waste while weaving into it alternate livelihood possibilities for waste pickers. • Attention, creatives! Are you aware of this powerful force to drive climate action? As UN Secretary General António Guterres puts it, why are we still in desperate need of an exit ramp off the highway to climate hell? Truth is, awareness alone won’t save us. While information about climate change has filled some gaps, it hasn’t driven the action the world urgently needs. It isn’t enough to inspire the changes necessary to effectively fight climate change. To break new ground, climate communication needs to inspire action and empower people to make real changes. This requires a new approach that connects to people’s values, identities, and everyday choices, creating a movement for sustainable lifestyles. By engaging with people, not just informing them, we can turn awareness into meaningful, collective action for a sustainable future. Read about how popular culture can drive action against climate change in the report Pop Culture: Bursting the Climate Communications Bubble from our partner New Zero World: https://lnkd.in/dQjjwnPm #climatecommunication #climateliteracy #storytelling #narrativechange

  • Hello Jodit Tesfai, Project Manager at H&M Foundation. ❓ You worked a lot with the Global Change Award Launch Summit and attended the event in Mumbai. Tell us, what was this about? 🔷 We gathered changemakers, systems thinkers, suppliers, brands, industry experts, investors and more in Mumbai, India earlier this fall for two days with talks and panels. The mission was to discuss how we can accelerate innovation and what actions we can take today to create the net-zero industry of tomorrow. We also launched a new round of our innovation challenge Global Change Award. ❓ What did you find most exciting? 🔷 The energy and excitement among the guests at the GCA launch summit stood out. Many began as strangers but quickly came together to explore and discuss solutions for a people and planet positive future. This felt extra meaningful for us at H&M Foundation, as we believe that creating new and unexpected connections is essential for driving change. ❓ Was anything challenging when creating this event? 🔷 To fit all the great ideas for programme content and speakers into one summit, make it relevant for a diverse audience, and ensure actionable outcomes. It took a lot of brainwork, but in the end, it was incredibly rewarding to see so many people inspired and engaged in discussions on how to decarbonise the textile industry and support the next generation of changemakers.
