Why does the job exist?
This position audits member contributions and work history prior to refunding member's account.
This position tracks, reconciles, and reports Federal taxes on IRS 945 report.
How does it get done?
Audit refund/rollover for compliance with NM state statute and ERB rules.
Audit member account work history and contributions.
Process refund/rollovers as a batch.
Reconcile with reports generated by current software.
Report federal tax online.
Track taxes on spreadsheet, reconcile monthly and yearly.
File reported taxes on IRS 945 report.
Who are the customers?
ERB active member - Public Education teachers, Administrators, College professors, doctors, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, Administrative staff, Maintenance staff.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
- Experience in Accounting and/or Finance
- Experience in auditing and reconciling financial accounts
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and detail oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong critical thinking skills and able to communicate effectively
Minimum Qualification
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
