This job posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until position has been filled.
Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the division¿s federal grants.
They will work with budget allocations and multiple funding sources as well as project id¿s to track federal funds and flow thru funds.
They will track, monitor and reconcile federal expenditures and revenue to ensure proper accounting and reporting to the federal government.
They will assist the Bureau Chief with the preparation of the annual budget request and Budget Adjustment Requests (BAR's) when needed.
They will reconcile the general ledger for appropriate recording of all expenditures and revenue within the Division.
They will assist with all aspects of the finance bureau within the division, such as; financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contracts, federal grants, reconciliation, cash management, etc.
They will prepare journal entries to correct accounting discrepancies withing the general ledger, and they will assist in the annual external audit
How does it get done?
Budget and financial support including purchasing, accounts payable, manage financial records, reconcile financial documents.
Run SHARE financial reports and create and prepare excel spreadsheets.
Prepares financial information for management.
Prepares and reviews accounting documents for accuracy and compliance.
Record management.
Who are the customers?
Customers will be Federal government representatives, staff within DOH as well as customers outside of DOH, such as staff from other divisions and agencies.
Ideal Candidate
Has experience in Budget or Accounting Functions, the SHARE Financial System and Microsoft Office Suite, such as, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Minimum Qualification
Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in budget preparation, budget monitoring, governmental accounting and/or federal grant reporting.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Office setting, attending meetings, visiting provider agencies, extensive computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
