Why does the job exist?
This position is to provide administrative support for division financial functions, including daily deposits, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll reconciliations and assist monthly trial balance reconciliations.
How does it get done?
This position will ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Cash Receipts, Deposits and Accounts Receivable.
Prepare correcting journal entries for balance sheet accounts and submit to ASD Financial Accounting Bureau for posting.
This position will assist in assisting in grant reconciliations, general ledger trial balance reconciliations on a monthly basis as required by ASD Financial Accounting Bureau.
Assist the Budget Director and the Fiscal Finance Officer with preparation of the annual budget request and implementation and maintenance of the operating budget.
Serve as liaison to other PHD Bureaus/Regions and ensure that each Program Area staff are apprised of issuances affecting their budget and finance.

Ideal Candidate
1.
Proficient in processing deposits using desk top deposit process.
2.
Knowledge with SHARE in the areas of the purchasing, grants, commitment control, and reporting tools and queries for SHARE HCM and Financial.
3.
Knowledge of and experience following State procurement, and federal regulation related to purchasing.
4.
Basic knowledge in reviewing, auditing, submitting, and tracking all payroll errors and correcting Journal entries
5.
Proficient in excel spreadsheets, to include pivot tables
6.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Minimum Qualification
Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in budget preparation, budget monitoring, governmental accounting and/or federal grant reporting.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
