*Principle Duties*
Under the direction of the supervising physician, the Physician Assistant (PA) will provide general medical care, assessments, evaluation, treatment and some minor surgery for patients in the Utah State Prison in accordance with the Physician Assistant Medical Practice Act.
The selected candidate may also direct/supervise medical staff.
*Minimum Requirements*
* Current licensure as Physician Assistant in the State of Utah.
*Preference's*
Preferences points will be given to applicants who have the following:
* Current licensure as Controlled Substance Handler in the State of Utah.
*Successful candidates will possess:*
* A solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of medicine.
* A knowledge of agency objectives, organization, structure and mission.
* An understanding of interactions and adverse reactions of drugs, medications and their dosage.
* A knowledge of operating applicable specialized equipment.
* A knowledge of and ability to diagnose medical conditions.
* Experience performing medical procedures.
Pre-employment drug test will be given to the selected candidate.
