What will you do in this role?
The Manager of Forward Planning will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and coordination of land development projects from conception to execution.
This role requires a strong understanding of land use planning, zoning regulations, and environmental considerations, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will drive the forward planning process, ensuring alignment with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and community needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement forward planning strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, demographic data, and regulatory changes to inform long-term land development plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and government agencies to gather relevant information for strategic decision-making.
Zoning Compliance:
- Stay abreast of zoning regulations, land use policies, and environmental laws to ensure compliance in all forward planning activities.
- Work closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to navigate and address zoning challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with local communities, government officials, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of projects within the broader community context.
- Lead public meetings and consultations to gather input, address concerns, and build community support.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal departments such as design, engineering, and construction to ensure seamless integration of forward planning strategies into project execution.
- Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful implementation.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and challenges in the forward planning process and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with legal and risk management teams to address any legal or regulatory issues that may arise.
You Have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in forward planning for large-scale land development projects.
- Strong knowledge of zoning regulations, environmental considerations, and land use policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, government officials, and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Familiarity with GIS and other planning software is a plus.

Expected Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 - This position is eligible for additional performance incentives through quarterly bonus opportunities.
Bonus potential 15% of base salary.
