Our busy pathology lab is looking for a Registered Histology Technician full time.

The Histology Technician prepares specimens received for the Pathologist to review and diagnose.
A registered Histology Technician has been registered by the College of American Pathologists *HT(ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)* as accredited and competent to handle and prepare pathology specimens *Registered Histology Technician Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):* *Technical Tasks:* * Grossing: provide a gross description of the specimen * Processing * Embedding * Cutting: cutting paraffin blocked specimens and put on microscope slides * Staining * Cover slipping *Other Tasks Include:* * Helping Lab Assistant with duties as needed * Data Entry * Statistics * Supply Ordering * Filing * Cassette printing /accessioning * Phone answering * Update Standard Operating Procedures * Send outs * Specimen pickup and delivery * Preventive Maintenance Records * Authoring Standard Operating Procedures * Responsible for applying, adhering and enforcing CLIA standards * Present for CLIA Inspection *Qualifications* * Registered by the College of American Pathologists *HT(ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)* as accredited * Must meet CLIA regulations for grossing specimens Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave * Vision insurance Medical specialties: * Gastroenterology * Pathology Schedule: * 8 hour shift Ability to commute/relocate: * Sandy, UT 84092: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: * Histology: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: * HT Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
