Who We Need
Immediately Hiring a Full-Time or Part-Time Teacher Assistant located in Magna, Utah.
The Teacher Assistant will provide educational services to our 16-Bed Residential Clinic for youth and adolescents.
This position provides support to a lead teacher in charge of the classroom.
Their duties include creating lesson plans, tutoring individual students or small groups, documenting progress, and overseeing lesson preparations
JOB SUMMARY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
Coordinates and conducts activities for children and/or youth ranging in age from 11yrs-18 years.
Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions.
Implements program options for children and youth with special requirements.
Demonstrates, instructs, leads and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities.
Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities.
Conducts inventory on equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities include the planning and management of daily activities to meet the academic/social skills/behavioral goals established for students.
Delivers comprehensive educational services to children, including those with Individualized Education Plan's (IEP), behavioral support or health plans and English language learners, helping them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a developmentally appropriate manner toward the overall goal of social competence and school readiness.
Completes all documentation in a timely manner in accordance with policies, procedures, and Copa Health’s protocols.
Adherence to all agency policies, licensure, and training requirements.
To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires any combination of training, education, and experience listed below:
An Associate or Baccalaureate degree (in any area) from a recognized institution or be enrolled in a program leading to a degree; or An Associate or Baccalaureate degree in ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, or other closely related field from a recognized institution is preferred.
Must have experience with elementary students with challenging behavior.
Knowledge and experience with alternative learning methods, thorough knowledge of functional behavioral assessment and experience with designing behavior intervention/treatment plans is preferred.
This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Must have a fingerprint clearance card issued by the UT Department of Public Safety or eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire.
TB Test clearance required at the time of hire and annually.
