Posting Summary Position Title Adjunct Faculty - Environmental Studies School/Department School of Arts and Sciences Program/ Home Department Environmental Science FLSA Status Position Summary The Environmental Studies Program seeks an interdisciplinary scholar to teach a project-based introductory course in Geographic Information Systems using Esri or QGIS software.
We seek a teacher with a strong interest in facilitating active student engagement, using case studies, local issues, and other student-centered methods.
Students will learn how GIS systems work and, in a series of labs, will work with GIS software using various data types to query and analyze it, present it as maps and graphs, and collect data concerning environmental topics.
Students will also learn spatial analysis techniques, some principles of cartography, essential principles of how geographic information is used to solve problems.
