The successful applicant will join a vital and innovative Exercise Science Department.
The Exercise Science Department is home to an AS in Kinesiology, AS in Outdoor Adventure Parks and Recreation, AAS in Fitness Technician with additional certificate and credentialing opportunities.

The Exercise Science Department seeks to fill an open Tenure Track Assistant Professor Line with a Nutrition focused faculty.
Assigned teaching course load will be primarily Nutrition Science with additional Exercise Science courses as needed.
The faculty member may be assigned to any SLCC location and may be assigned alternative work schedules (e.

evenings or weekends) with variable a teaching schedule.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities & Duties: 1.
Prepare for, teach, and maintain student records, for a variety of department courses, adhering to approved course outlines and syllabi.
2.
Participate in curriculum development, textbook selection and course/program assessment.
3.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
4.
Attend regularly scheduled department and College-wide meetings.
5.
Fulfill service to the College through committee assignments, department assignments, student advising/mentoring, etc.
6.
Participate in ongoing professional development.
7.
Maintain a professional portfolio for tenure review, rank advancement and merit evaluations.
8.
Accept and complete additional job-related duties as outlined in the Full-Time Faculty Handbook.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1.
Master’s degree in Nutrition (Nutrition Science, Dietetics) or a closely related health field, from an accredited college or university.
2.
Two years (full or part-time) teaching experience in Nutrition, at the college or university level.
Teaching experience could be replaced by 2 years minimum of clinical experience in areas like rehabilitation, nutrition counseling /therapy and disease management.
Preferred Qualifications Accredited Specialty certification/credential (Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Science, Performance) Practical experience in designing and implementing nutrition prescription (clinical, performance, recreational).
Experience with interpreting and disseminating evidence-based health information.
Demonstrated knowledge of or work in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning as it relates to Nutrition.
Experience supervising or advising students.
Experience with curriculum development of nutrition and closely related science programs / courses.
Demonstrated commitment to improving access to, and retention in, higher education for students from communities traditionally underrepresented in higher education and unique communities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent computer and organizational skills.
Ability to work well with others and productively contribute to a team setting.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
Computer literacy skills as they relate to email, Microsoft programs, and online teaching.
